  1. The upgrade I bought on ebay is pretty much same size as the kit. There is a lot I can use so thanks for the tip. I think it will land up being a mix and match between Airfix and Verlinden. Looking forward to a bit of a challenge, that's what the hobby is about!
  2. Thanks people, will have to get busy with my file. Don't know why I'm fussing, you won't see it anyway! I have the airscale instrument panel which looks excellent. I may post the build as there will be a lot of work to do to make it half decent. Mind you, I posted my 1/24 Stuka and no one looked at it!. Thanks again.
  3. Much appreciated, I've bought it. Is there much difference between 1/24 & 1/20? I'm not much good at such things. I guess it must be slightly bigger but by how much? Someone will know I'm sure! Thanks again for your help.
  4. Much appreciated, perhaps I'll give it a try, thanks for the great pics.
  5. Does anyone know where I can source some please? I have tried all the usual online sources without success. I know RB Productions made them and they are now apparently out of business? I am attempting to make a silk purse out of the old Airfix FW 190A 1/24 scale. Showing its age! I await in eager anticipation.
  6. I've never seen anything quite like this, astounding!
  7. Classic modelling, really helpful for my own builds. Brilliant looking aircraft.
  8. Nice work Werner, I am making the Hasegawa F86F with Eduard upgrades, not dissimilar to yours. I feel for you with work problems. I have the best job ever, retired! Just imagine your boss sitting on the toilet with his trousers around his ankles, have a good laugh, used to work for me! 😀
  9. That's fantastic info. Never heard of that project. Thanks for that.
  10. A shame really that jet fighters came along just as piston engines were reaching their peak.
  11. Amazing how much knowledge there is out there! As ever, thanks for all the helpful info.
  12. Amazing how much knowledge there is out there!
  13. Much appreciate all this help.
  14. Wasn’t planning to show engine,I’m not that good! Can see the attraction though.
  15. Thanks for all your replies, not as straightforward as I thought!
  16. I have an idea to re-engine a 1/48 P51 with a RR Griffon. What an aircraft that would have been! Don’t know why they didn’t do it?! Has anyone attempted this? Any ideas on which kits to use? I guess the engine donor would have to be a Spitfire? Not looking to count rivets, just provide a reasonable example.
  17. Thanks again, much appreciated.
  18. Thanks to all, I will have to hit eBay I think! Good advice as ever.
  19. Can anyone recommend a decent one of these please? I am not fussed about the variant, just the quality of the kit. If anyone has an Edward in their stash, I could be interested?!
  20. Thanks GrzeM, all reviews are relative and based on someone's opinion. I only ever take them as a guide.
  21. That's pretty impressive, more or less a whole aircraft. Much obliged.
