  1. Nice result . I binned one as a teenager due to the heavy top wing collapsing with a mass of struts. Now know I should have used a jig. Must revisit it one day to boost my confidence.
  2. The B-26B-10-MA and B-26C-5-MO and following production blocks had the wingspan increased from 65 feet to 71 feet.

    Withdrawal?

Kitchen table for me. Good light, heat, radio, water and food ! Use a workstation and toolbox. Easily moved out of the way. Stash in the loft. Decals kept in old Amazon delivery buff envelopes in bedroom Wardrobe(dry and away from light). Have a garden shed workbench too cold in the winter. I store paints and inflammable's here i.e paint, thinners ,glue's, etc.
  6. I'll second your book recommendation, superb diagrams. Also the Wing Leader books on the Avro Lancaster on the Dambuster's are very well detailed with lesser known fitments.
  7. If its the B-17G Bit O Lace of the 447th Bomb Group the wing chevron was Insignia Blue.

    Suffering with....

Hi Paul, Hope you are feeling better ? On January 6th whilst at Duxford ,I volunteer there I too suffered a vertigo spell. No nausea but felt my legs were giving way. Could not get my balance as head was swimming. Called the airfield medics for help. They took my blood pressure it was very high. I was taken by car to Addenbrookes as there was no way was I safe to drive. After various bloods ,ECG and CT brain scan all showed clear. Had an injection in my arm of Prochlorperazine which gradually reduced my blood pressure back to normal after 4 hours. Put on 5mg daily of Prochlorperazine for a week, had no re-occurence thankfully. Like you I have nothing but praise for the NHS doctors and nurses who treated me. I had a bad case of the flu and tight chest through December. Think I had a minor ear infection as a result. Managed to collect my car 4 days later from Duxford. Strange why it happened I'm a fit 70 year old.
  9. I am currently building the Airfix 1/72 Marauder. This has given me much information on the interior detail and layout. Very inspiring and a beautiful build.
  10. I've found a solution. Roll the tips on the end of a Pritt stick. Now nice and tacky. When not in use I keep the covers on. Hope this helps other members. Thanks Mike I tried the water but didn't seem to work. Also tried rolling on sticky tape as well.

  12. This tool has impregnated silicone sticky tips to pick up small components. Trouble is both ends have lost their tackiness. Can you get replacement tacky tips or recoat with silicone ? Any ideas please ? TIA.
  13. Thanks for posting some excellent views of the Monospar and Flying Flea in the air. Yes it is a BAC Drone.
  14. Spoke to Harry recently he is ok taking a rest with family, but still designing and producing new prototypes. If you require anything contact him direct.
  15. Aviation News did them. I will search and report back. I'm out today.
  16. I have " First In The Field" the 1st Air Division over Europe in World War II. Schiffer is quality printing and photo reproducing. This is a war diary from early beginnings till the end of the war. Colour section at the back. Many photographs not seen before. These books are pricey managed to obtain a good second hand one. My classic go to though is Roger Freemans "Mighty Eighth". This and his War Manual sparked a deep interest to find out more.
  17. Adam, For a finer putty for seam filling try Vallejo Plastic Putty 70.401 or Deluxe Material's Perfect Plastic putty. Less sanding and after applying you can remove excess with a wet finger or Q tip, cloth. Also less chance of abrasive material's coming into contact with other part's of the model.
  18. Seeing the glider fleet is very nostalgic for me. From 1966-71 it was an all wood/fabric fleet of 2 Sedbergh's,2 Tutor's, Grunau 3 and Olympia 2b. The flying club shared this hangar also on the right hand side comprising Tiger Moth's and Auster's.
  19. Nice to see an 8 Group Pathfinder Mossie. The Cookie with the inscription really adds to the scene. Inspiring build.
  20. Very nice build and finish. Great to see an 8 Group Pathfinder aircraft . Seem very neglected in the modelling world.
  21. Superb build and finish. Should inspire everybody to purchase more B-24 kit's.
  22. Absolutely gorgeous build and finish. So inspiring !
  23. The bomb bay surface should be smooth ,no protrusions. Airfix got this badly wrong when they Lidared the TT.35 version at Cosford. I got the FreightDog conversion which has a smooth resin bomb-bay. Nice tip on the wing tip nav lights.
