  1. Looks great. Nice action scene.
  2. Wow. This is an excellent diorama and I really like the composition. The detail of the figures, tanks and aircraft at 1/72 scale is very impressive. I haven't made anything in 1/72 since I was a kid but the detail of the models looks to have really improved. The groundwork is very impressive too. I always like a diorama to tell a story and grab that moment in time and this achieves both. Inspiring work.
  3. A great looking model that's been finished very nicely. I like the equipment stash on and around the vehicle. Looks great.
  4. This is great. Weathering is good and the worn foot wells are a nice detail. I hope you try again with the figures.
  5. I really like the diorama. The groundwork on different levels is great.
  6. A wonderful kit that has been excellently finished and desert weathered. Looks great.
  7. Great finish and excellent subtle weathering. Is this brush painted or air brushed?
  8. Very nicely detailed. Looks great.
  9. That's a really nice model with alot of detail. Very nice and subtle weathering. It looks great.
  10. Wow. That's great. I really like the illumination and subtle weathering on the tank.
  11. Hi Jack, Thanks for the feedback. I'm going for a late autumn scene as I wanted to combine both a muddy area as well as snow to show that it's cold. It was a way of working on several new materials and techniques in one project. I checked quite a few pictures online but they were all black and white so I couldn't tell the colour of the foliage but I've made a note of light ochre thin wash and will certainly give that a go. Thanks for the tip. As for the snow, well, yes, on the gun it has gone a but coconutty (now I'm just making up words!) but overall the DM Scenic Snow is a big improvement on what I had used previously but there's another snow product that I will try next time. It could be case of combining products. Regards, Lee
  12. Hi. The ground was made from layers of sand that were set in place with a PVA solution using a pipette. Whilst still wet, I used an old figure (one that didn't go so well) to walk through the mud in all directions to create the footprints in the busy area around the gun. Once all set and then painted (primarily with Humbrol # 10), I then used the solid water to create the puddles. The first layer of Solid Water soaked into the sand (it wasn't sealed...damn it) but it created a seal so that subsequent layers set as puddles. On the final layer, I used a very small amount of oil paint just to give a slight film on the surface and would use this more when adding puddles around vehicles and oil drums and jerrycans on future dioramas. The Solid Water can also be teased into place with a cocktail stick whilst it's still wet. Hope this helps. Regards, Lee
  13. Hi there, This is my latest project finished only yesterday of a Falschirmjaeger artillery unit in Russia. The kits for the PAK 38 and the 9 figures are from Dragon Models 6118 and 6157. I've used a few accessories from the spares box. The empty shell boxes and the bandoliers on the MG42 gunner are etch pieces from Griffon Models (very nice kits but equally very fiddly) and the empty shell cases are Evergreen rod (EG212 - 2mm dia.) cut to length with one end drilled out with a pin vice. Gun slings are all made from lead foil. The diorama is all scratch built using balsa wood and coffee stirers for the retaining wall and the ground base for the PAK 38 to sit on. I also used two of Deluxe Materials for the first time being the Solid Water and the Scenic Snow and I was impressed with both. All set in a picture frame bought from a Swedish furniture maker....I'll leave you to guess who! The idea was to have a layer of snow just to emphasise that it's cold but to have a muddy area around the gun where the ground would be unsettled and most of the activity would be. All in all, I've learnt many new techniques (that includes posting on Britmodeller too) and thoroughlly enjoyed the build from start to finish. On to the next one...... Any feedback and tips welcome. Thanks for looking. Regards, Lee http:// windows screen capture http:// image hosting over 10mb http:// pic upload http:// image upload no limit http:// free image uploading
  14. The overgrown groundwork really adds to the abandonment of the vehicle which has great weathering. Excellent.
  15. An excelłent diorama. i really like the weathering and worn look on the model and the groundwork is very detailed.
  16. Very nicely weathered and I like the chipped and worn paint areas.
  17. The finish is excellent with very realistic weathering and wear and tear but I have to applaud the pictures too as the backdrop with the red star painted on wood just looks great. It really finishes off the model nicely.
  18. I can only mirror the other comments. This is excellent, the weathering, equipment stash and the extra armour too.....all looks great.
  19. Excellent finish. The detail and chipping effect have really come out well considering this is a first attempt. Looks a nice model too.
