Doubt there would be large stocks of paint in stock. Supply difficulties & high demand more probably resulted in a situation more like today's Just In Time philosophy and that stocks were limited. Delay's in applicaton would be a result of lengthy & slow supply chains.

Thought I'd try one of those home delivered pre-packed ingredient meals. Couldn't decide on which supplier so tried a WITCH recomendation. Just how do you cook slugs and snails and puppy dog tails

If you're only using it as a straight edge for cutting you could do what I've done & use a length of Aluminium 'T' section. (approx 20 x 25 mm & 1 m long) Attach a length of 'Wet & Dry'/Emery paper to the flat with double sided tape to make it none slip. T section makes it virtually inflexible. It has proven sufficiently resistant to damage when cutting with a scalpel, the upright protects the finger tips from acidental slicing. The length and abrasive also caters for flattening large areas or filing long straights.

I can also recomend the really usefulbox range and rarely use anything else for general storage. Try Gemini Storage Solutions - they do (did) many shows and I understand do mail order too. Pricing at shows is extreamly competetive. www.facebook.com/geministoragesolutions No connection except a very satisfied customer

Aware of the differences was using it as an analogy to illustrate the point that pure electronic devices have a useful life. 100 years for RAM has not yet been proven!

Ulikely to get custom sizes as they're generally injecton molded. In the past I've seen some of the display cabinet makers (picture pride etc) offer acrylic display covers.

Recently defraged a couple of hard drives, came to the SSD (Solid State Device) and was warned that to continue could cause the drive to fail so maybe electronic memory does have a life span.

It's the importer, or apointed agent, that is legally responsible for ensuring the correct code is used not the seller.

If they've been cleared as individual items and not through a 'bulk' system they could have been imported on a tariff code that attracts duty. In such cases the 45% "VAT" may be 20% Duty + 20% VAT.

The Esci kit of the 80's was done as a promotion in conjunction with Ford for the launch of the Mk2 - No large scale Mk1 has been done in plastic, plenty of die cast though. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/esci-ford-transit--608806

Didn't they later use the Grand Phlam on the Darth Turpitz or was that 9 squadron? -
The current Italeri kit is straight from the Esci moulds - a Mk 2. I probably built 3 Standard (except for driver side load door converted to panel), Long wheel base using 2 rear sections (twin rear wheels, extended wheel arches & split read doors), & box van from spare cab. Still have a couple of originals still stashed pending conversions - 1 for a tipper & one to be decided upon. Had plans to back one date 1 to a mk1 - can't be sure how far that got. Still have the Transit promotional brochure for the Mk.2 available somewhere.

We're British and we definately DO have yards. Sometimes front, sometimes back , sometimes back, sometimes both. I'm off to cut the grass on mine. -

With older well used tins it's usually a build up of dried paint, with new tins I've put it down to larger lids /smaller openings. In the factory lids are fitted by machine so will be applying some pressure, I've taken to tapping lightly with a small hammer.

Technically the AEC Regent III was a running chassis offered by AEC upon which varous companies (Park Royal, Cravens, Roe, Wemann ...) built their own style of body. The nearest style to that of the Routemaster (RM) was the London Transport RT which was a Park Royal body on the AEC Chassis which as Park Royal built the RM body is not surprising. There are however substantial differences in the body, for example the front upper deck rakes back more on the RT than the RM which affects the first upper window and more importantly the front dome. And of course Revell models the extended version of the RM so a section requires removal to represent an RT. If you want to model a Regent III that is representative of one operated by one of the municipalities then it would be debateable about how much of the body could be used. I don't want to put you especially as its something I've too considered doing If I lay my hands on a cheap offering Best starting point would be to find suitable drawings which are available on the internet https://www.the-blueprints.com/blueprints/buses/various-buses/40287/view/aec_regal_iii_red_bus_double_decker/ https://drawingdatabase.com/aec-routemaster-london-bus/ https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&id=8B34D7252ADE36EA91979A138B0B695901B9C81B&thid=OIP.oTkydnwS5VRaoltP-FMwhAHaES&exph=742&expw=1280&q=AEC+bus+Blueprint&selectedindex=2&qft=+filterui%3acolor2-bw+filterui%3aimagesize-large&vt=0&eim=0,1,2,3,4,6,8,10 https://www.flickriver.com/photos/23875695@N06/tags/plans/ Low height version https://timebus.co.uk/rlh/diagrams/index.htm

Many is the time i've put stuff in the pile of storage cluttering up the work area where it's resided for months, sometime years, until that one moment it's required when it's suddenly nowhere to be found, only to turn up again, where I thought it was originally, after a replacement or alternative has been sourced. I put it dow to ghosts.

That's not as re-assuring as it sounds. London - New York approx 3500 mile one way and approx 7 hours flight time which is short enough for a plane to do a round trip of 7000 miles each day. At that rate one million miles would be achieved in less than 150 days flying time which, frightlingly, implies a failure, and potential loss, for each airframe within 6 months of first flight!
