RAF Eurofighter Typhoon, best options in 1/72
Silverkite replied to Courageous's topic in Aircraft Modern
Guess I got them right at first and then after checking some generic F-16 chart I messed it up So Revell is missing 3-4 on both kits but has 7-8 on the later boxing?Whilst Hasegawa comes with all of them 'cept the LTS one and also panels lines need a fix then it will be up to me to chose whatever keeps me afloat ^^ Luigi -
USAF F-111F and Australian F-111G stencils
Silverkite replied to Silverkite's topic in Aircraft Cold War
the walkway on the Australian Vark is not a problem, problem is the No Push/Pull/Step dungeon, location of emergency release panels, ground refueling things and the stencils around Pave Tack pod. Isn't there a generic guide for them? Luigi -
RAF Eurofighter Typhoon, best options in 1/72
Silverkite replied to Courageous's topic in Aircraft Modern
Thank you Selwyn, going to use numbers now and ignoring fuselage station numbers for Aim-120 as the inner/outward thing confuses me Old Revell has stations number 1-9 (fixed) plus 3-7 (either drop tank or Storm Shadow) and 5 (drop tank and nothing else) New Revell has stations number 1-9 (fixed) plus 3-7 (either drop tank or a good amount of nothing) 4-6 (whatever is going to fit here) and 5 (drop tank and nothing else) Hasegawa covered everything but once again station 5 is OK for the drop tank but not fine for a LTS system as like Revell they missed the differences Am I right or I messed it up? M-60A1 or M-60A3 here with summer verdant merdc camo?
Silverkite replied to Davide Calzolari's topic in AFV Cold War
Maybe turret's cheek do speak and I do indeed see something different but I guess it will remain a mystery Italian M60,sadly when they did some kind of open day in Cagliari they parked a mere Leopard in here 'merican M60A3 front turret weld are different even more talk but no pics http://www.network54.com/Forum/47209/thread/1209017170/Tamiya+M60A3- more stuff http://afvdb.50megs.com/usa/pics/m60.html I give up Luigi -
How heavy stenciled were they during late years of service? I'm asking because the decals included inside Hasegawa's F-111 D/F box DEFINITELY need a replacement, maybe not for the ones inside Hasegawa 00952 boxing but I can't find Aussie Decals sheet anymore.Printscale has a decal set containing some stencil data but I'm not sure if those are ok for the F-111F but maybe they are good enough for the F-111E Need some help ! RAF Eurofighter Typhoon, best options in 1/72
Silverkite replied to Courageous's topic in Aircraft Modern
Thank you Bobski, did a search and it seems it comes with more pylon even though the instructions don't say a word about them but I have both Hasegawa,Italeri and the first Revell boxing,so since I hate myself and the free space in my shelf I think I'll be fetching one more boxing of the first version and at least one box of the revised kit ^^ Luigi -
Fujimi 1/72 British Phantom - Nose too short?
Silverkite replied to Dave Fleming's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Compared to Hasegawa stabs they look a bit more short, but once you put them in place nobody will ever notice Luigi -
M-60A1 or M-60A3 here with summer verdant merdc camo?
Silverkite replied to Davide Calzolari's topic in AFV Cold War
A1 had coincident range finder on turret side, but it is covered A1 had different tracks but I'm not good with them at all A3 had a different gun shield but is once again covered A3 also had the commander cupola modified as it was more lower but is not that clear There is something also related to fender differences between A1 and A3 but I have a complete lack of clear references ok found some old stuff http://www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=98188&page=1 http://www.network54.com/Forum/47209/thread/998315004/Differences+between+M60A1+and+M60A3 Luigi -
be aware that Art Model requires some modifications for a SM Luigi

weren't the missing pylons included in the updated box? Luigi -
I'm pretty sure that Iran F-14 didn't come with ECM blisters and flare dispensers, not sure about tail stiffeners,if anything you have to remove them and also find a spare nose fairing and maybe a different radome too Due me hoarding back Hasegawa Tomcats I'm going to stick with them,I doubt Fine Molds will ever release a early beavertail Tomcat or something appropriate for a Iran version,so I would rather fix Hasegawa drop tank holes and some other things allocated around the fins and Phoenix launchers than hoarding 16 FM kits just to crosskit them Luigi

whelp I do have Eduard limited edition Hind since it's very first release so I guess I'll be cloning that part and keep the original stored away, also have to reinstall Metal Gear Solid and check if I still have the pics taken from MGS IV as I have different projects in mind and I not enough space for more Eduard's boxes :-\ Luigi
-
Now I wonder if Zvezda is doing a D too or Eduard will be so kind to release the resin bits from their Limited Edition as aftermarket conversion Luigi

MIG-21UM forward airbrake .. a further question
Silverkite replied to RidgeRunner's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Probably is very similar to the one used on Mig-21 F-13 as they shared the same fuselage -
I hope one day they will also lob the Mirage III NG conversion roo Luigi

They are not going to do the M4? Luigi

that's a B in the picture if not a D but it's kinda hard to spot the Naces horns,.Still I'm stocked up with Hasegawa Tomcats due Fine Molds not releasing earlier and late A variants and not even a B,going to sell them up and move towards better alternatives when someone will finally release the entire quintet. The EA-18G looks more interesting and if for their next trick they got the Advanced Super Hornet with newer pods they will definitely get my attention Luigi edit Ok it's a VF-31 Delta from last Tomcat demo

I once owned box 04333,bought it 14 years or so ago and here is what's left of it due the kit being destroyed by a falling book, probably I have more bits in the spare box but no fuselage related parts https://i.imgur.com/2ZgQmdo.jpg Luigi

I just hope the F-16 will come with small stabs as it costs them nothing to unplug THAT relative area Luigi
-
Thanks Gabor, took a quick look on some pictures through Google and spotted some differences here in there in a panel around intake ring, split intake had some kind of light/searcher don't know, riveting looked different between two models etc, even so I'm kinda covered for the exported czech built versions and I will take my time for a soviet built one Luigi
-
Please tell me that those differences between soviet and czech built Mig-15s is just a bunch of internal stuff and wing pylons :-\ Luigi

No Mig-29 9-12, no Su-30SM, no Su-35E, no freaking Su-37 but a UTI instead of any of them despite Eduard nailing the Mig-15 coffin, why...

1/48 - Yakovlev Yak-130 "Mitten" by Zvezda - released - new boxing
Silverkite replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
everyone failed into making a decent 1/72 Mig-17 and if Zvezda releases it in the wrong scale I'm going to invade Russia. -
If I remember it correctly as I no longer own them anymore but a single Ka-9 kit with scavenged pieces from remains taken from evilbay and other builders Ka-9, 00071, 00675 boxing had both wings 00056, 00935 and 01922 had only the thick wing RF-4B can be converted straight into an RF-4C but be aware that some E and RF boxing do have a little extra antenna and the curious thing about it is that Hasegawa randomly included it on any given box, once I had 6 F-4J Liberty Bell all of them purchased a month after their release only two of them had the antenna, others didn't,the same happened with 00790 boxing one had all the ARN-101 fairing and the other didn't, ditto for some F-4B/N boxings maybe 00640 and 00365 with missing IR fairings Luigi
