Italeri 2019 catalog - "new" (reissue, repop, rebox etc.) in 2019
Silverkite replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
I don't want to badmouth Scalemates but I think they "guess" which tooling is and which tooling is not, sometimes they get it right and some other times they do not. I don't know if registered users can mess with the historic kit timeline or not, could address some errors if so, but if they need photographic proof of kit tooling then is going to be a problem especially for some OOP kits and whatnot Luigi -
Italeri 2019 catalog - "new" (reissue, repop, rebox etc.) in 2019
Silverkite replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
Top Gun set contains the crappy Italeri F-14 with the basic Esci A-4 with no other extras From past previews it looked like Esci AV-8A so no Fujimi Harriers (luckily) are getting recycled Luigi -
It does come with a larger mouth intake and GE engine, same bits can be found on box D18 but be aware that Harm targetting pod and beer can antennas are undersized, also Hasegawa always sells to you a basic A/B fuselage which also comes with a shorter fuselage at the bottom (same error in their 1/48 or whatever scale kit). Either way both D and CJ are dirty cheap so instead of going after LM edition kits you can always pick two of them and still be able to build a basic C using the extra parts from the D model Forgot source https://www.super-hobby.com/products/General-Dynamics-F-16DJ-Block-50-Fighting-Falcon.html As for Revell goes F-16C #04633 is the only box of which you are guaranteed to get Block 5 stabs, the extra pylons from sprue D but not the short tail housing Any other F-16C made by them DOES NOT HAVE the Block 5 stabs and instead they all come with short tail housing plus a set of pylons from sprue D is always amiss F-16A MLU #04612 early boxes sometimes had the crap whiteysh set of decals then as for earlier Block 5 stabs there is a 50/50 chance that some box will come with them, sadly there is no way to tell which one does and which one does not. I do remember my LHS receiving an earlier batch of them, and people wanted to pry the box open due #04317/8 disasters and it didn't come with Block 5 stabs, instead the decals were good, another LHS either at Lucca or Pisa had two of them and both were bundled with crappy decals F-16B #04355 earlier boxes did not come with Block 5 stabs, later on Ebay I found some which had them, also the one I received 6 months ago and not the first two I bought 14-ish years ago has mismatched sprue parts, others didn't but always lacked the very same pylons from the other F-16C boxes which are also amiss on most of their A boxes 'cept for #04663 F-16A #04663 comes with both short and long tail housing and Block 5/15 stabs Whatever F-16A MLU either in catalogue/future or OOP doesn't come with Block 5 stabs and a couple of pylons on sprue D are amiss Revell committed the mistake made from Hasegawa, they just made an A fuselage and slapped C parts on it, bottom fuselage length is correct Slightly off topic F-16s with good or crappy decals are not the only ones whom received the same treatment, I was searching through archives and unlisted Ebay items and found some nasty things Earlier Tornado boxes and those are just a couple plus the famous and overpriced RSAF box mostly had the crappy whitey decals and were all Monogram reboxes, yet I found different RSAF listings with both good decals and crappy ones Mid 90's Tornado boxes and those are around three or four can't really remember, were just Italeri reboxes, those reboxes were from Italeri #171 #164 #151 and #124 kits, I cannot say that much but the rebox of Italeri #164 was modified with a pod taken from an ECR box instead of GPB, also some of them did come with well printed decals and stencils For the YF-22 they were more nasty and confusing basically any boxing labelled as #04314 IS the Monogram toyish kit, any boxing labelled as #4314 is the Italeri one, then years later to make things more confusing they recycled the kit number and released or reboxed the Esci F-5B, earlier release boxes did come with an extra sprue containing napalm canister and GPB, later they freaking decided to remove them, in both cases the instructions were prone to rot and damage your decals, so did the instruction sets from the A-6E, Su-34, F-117 and a couple of others from that period of time, if you have those kits please keep the decals AWAY from the instruction set :V Luigi

Kiwi Models (formerly Kiwi Resin Models) is for sale
Silverkite replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
and I needed just one of theris MB 339 conversion cause Italeri is way too lazy to upgrade it -
I can finally start my Area88 diorama project then Now I only need to find any info about Bears with top/bottom fuselage mounted MGs Luigi
-
twenty years from now on and they will probably release a BF-109F2, then maybe after one freaking hundred years later an F-16D and the downscale of theirs P&W F-16s Luigi
-
too bad that due their newer policy for cheaper kits the stencils are gone and got replaced by a fancy instruction set that is more expensive than the entire decal sheet Luigi
-
For me it's 50/50 between Italeri and Hasegawa, I'm not expert but wasted time comparing both kits against SOAR birds when OFP Resistance received the BAS Black Hawks addons and I entered in that territory to make at least a DAP conversion and a Pave Hawk, both have something that the other kit doesn't so you either pick the one with the most accurate fuselage and slap the good parts of the other kit on it Italeri got reboxed by Revell and Tamiya, once had all the Revell reboxes but as for now the only one left in my stash is the Desert Hawk, for what I'm aware of Revell never modified or added some extra parts like they did Italeri AB-212 and AB-412 Fujimi and Hobbyboss have a slender nose and do look funny Hobbycraft is either their own abomination copy of Hasegawa's moulds or something else which should be avoided Luigi
-
they have more things to reissue (pic related) but if they do the F-111A first then I'll be selling out the standard E boxing instead of converting it to an A by using F-111C/G spare fuselage parts. The sad thing is I can't find Aussie decals sheet with the full stencils set anymore, and the store who sells it through evilbay doesn't ship to Italy. Also there is a dire need of good aftermarket decals with stencil data included for the other versions too.Superscale set is kinda old, generic and I think is also missing something around the Pave Tack area Luigi
-
it will be the same as 2006 catalog? Luigi

So what if I go after F-4J UK pictures to see the most common/visible ones then steal FGR1/2 stencils instead of waiting decals manufactures to fill the gaps? Luigi

Are there any available out there? Luigi

Su-27UB - New kit from Zvezda - 1/72 scale
Silverkite replied to Flankerman's topic in The Rumourmonger
Thanks Ken I asked as the lower section of the two seats fuselage seems to be more bulbous/fatter than the single seat version, I once had Airfix and Heller kits but I never bothered to check or mate the two fuselage half together Luigi- 45 replies

Su-27UB - New kit from Zvezda - 1/72 scale
Silverkite replied to Flankerman's topic in The Rumourmonger
stupid question: Do both Su-27B and Su-27UB share the same forward fuselage section and length with the exception being the upper section or are my eyes playing tricks on me? Luigi- 45 replies

Esci A-4 Skyhawk is in the box instead of their door stopper thing shaped like a Skyhawk Luigi

also if you are really into early 18s you need Fujimi drop tanks hoping that they have the correct dimensions Luigi

F-4E inboard pylon for AGM 142 missiles in 1/72 scale
Silverkite replied to Silverkite's topic in Aircraft Cold War
thanks to all, I'll try to shift back on that universe which had those 1/72 pylons already done...or....scratch-build them in current one Luigi -
Stupid question is on the way: Since either here on BM or ARC it was said that Mig-25UP and Mig-25RU are different, does this means that maybe wings, engine nozzles are good to get used for a not so straight Mig-25RU bash-up conversion with Condor Mig-25U? Luigi

1/72 - Dassault Mirage IV by A&A Models - IVA & P released
Silverkite replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
What about Modelsvit Mirage 4000 wheels? I was looking to pictures and other stuff and noticed that maybe Mirage IV drop tanks can be mounted on the Mirage 4000 as the size and panels seems to match Luigi- 102 replies

F-4E inboard pylon for AGM 142 missiles in 1/72 scale
Silverkite replied to Silverkite's topic in Aircraft Cold War
thanks but I'm pretty sure that somewhere there it was a discussion showing those scaled down pylons as I remember a picture showing the 3 attachment points instead and the lengthened portion of it Luigi -
F-4E inboard pylon for AGM 142 missiles in 1/72 scale
Silverkite posted a topic in Aircraft Cold War
Due my transition through a parallel universe I've probably lost another bit of knowledge, so my question is: Wasn't there a 1/72 pylon or a thread somewhere inside the forums? I went back searching on Rumourmonger section but found only the DM Corporation kit which didn't include them, for sure in the past I saw a thread with the newer (reboxed) PM kits that probably had them inside the TuAF Phantom kit but I can't find it anymore and their site seems goner...if neither is true then wasn't there a resin option for them? Luigi
