A bit of progress last night (advantage of living down under- the 6th was yesterday lol). Soft plastic makes clean up easy BUT also easy to carve new unwanted features if one slips. Just a tad of flash as can be seen by the accumulation of shaved blue plastic. As they say, the first cut is the hardest.

Whilst looking for a kit for a different group build, I came across a CAC High Planes kit so I will see how it goes.

I accidentally bought a FineMolds F-4EJ Kai (meant to get a EJ to make an E) so now I get to build it. Woo hoo.

Hi I’ll join with a Ryan Fireball (MPM) and a F-14 1/72), not sure which brand.

I’ll join in with a Modelsvit Mirage IIIO (second Group Build attempt for this kit 🤣)

I think I have a RS Airspeed Envoy. If so, I’ll join in.

SABLE only exists if you count the stash. Otherwise it’s just a few kits.

I have a High Planes A-20 (RAAF markings) to build so I’ll have a crack at that.

Hey Sebastien, wow you’ve done a great job. Just bought a printer (still in the box). Thanks for sharing and giving me hope for when I have a crack.

I will have a crack with a High Planes Pika (if I can find it). And I will actually try to get this finished as opposed to my previous group builds. We shall see.

That looks very nice! He’s doing an awesome job with his little business and Red Roo with their support for all things Aussie.

I have a questions about glue. I normally build 1/72 and my choice of Tamiya thin and extra thin work fine. However, on the Lancaster there are some bloody long joins to be made (fuselage and wings, heck even the Grand Slam). How you folks attack such big joins? Im somewhat perplexed by how to go about it.
Thanks

hang on wasn’t the 23rd yesterday?? I’m in Australia so my dates could be way out and I’m relying on google? I’m so confused?

My money is on a Spitfire MkI, II, V’s. Well hoping for this 🤞

Some bits for the paint shop. It’s a nice enough kit let down by poor engineering (here and there) and sometimes questionable fit. But it’s still enjoyable. I have no idea how to paint it (the big bits) or glue the big bits together so that’s a bit down the track. Definitely outside my comfort zone.
And incredibly disappointing that there are no decals nor relief for the instruments - come on, even in 1/72 we more often than not, get at least that. See the questionable engineering comment!- 2

I’d be happy if they just added the different variants to the kits they already have. Eg a F-14B, high back XVI, etc.

Yeah - I have 3 bottles so a lifetime supply 🤣
I’ve never used extra thin (just don’t have any) but the airbrush cleaner was a life changer!

Yeah counts me out too🤣🤣. I’ve come to a bit of a predicament- my compressor isn’t turning on and until I fix it, no painting. It’s a 15cfm industrial one so it might take a bit (and cost a bit) to get it fixed.
oh well. More filing, sanding, filing, sanding. And so on.
