    Hello Chris, Thank you for the suggestions. I'll go on a search for the said sandpaper. Everything is hard to find in the UAE so I'll probably buy it in England along with micromesh and future. I think that would be best. Would I need to get anything else along with future? (e.g. Windex to thin it down.) Or will I be fine applying it straight out of the 'box' ? Hamdhan.

    So been away doing more travelling for a bit, now I'm back The first round of spraying didn't go too well unfortunetely. It's mostly fine but since the paint was soft even after a week of drying, there are tiny indentations which annoy me. Everything was nice and hard after I came back after a month. So for now I'm going to smooth out those imperfections, some sanding, some filling, then spray it with a thin coat or two. And I'll check it after a week to see how it's doing. If it is nice and dry, I'll start painting the rest of the plane (wings etc.). If the paint is not dry enough, I will leave it to dry and be off to university, and will resume building it over the next holiday This is turning out to be a very long build unfortunately, sorry to keep everyone waiting

    The white coat is finished and turned out alright in my opinion. Some tiny imperfections in places, but you only see them if you're really picky. Looks nice and shiny otherwise, pics will be put up later on. Now I'm going to start brush painting the wings. Edit: Will peel back masking tapes tomorrow (after 48hours) just to be on the safe side. More Edit: Even after 48hours the coat is quite soft. I life it on a table to dry so the contact points have become flat. looks like it will need one more coat and a week or so of drying. I'm gonna let the current coat dry for a week, then put on another coat to fix the defects caused from the drying process. First time I've such an issue with the paint being soft after so long. Strange.

    I have painted on about 5 thin coats of acrylic (white). I will spray it today or tomorrow. Before I do, I will test it on some plastic from the spar of the kit to see if the paint is aggressive or not.

    Hello everyone! Model is nice and primed, ready for paint. I plan to paint the whole model with white acrylic, and then spray paint just the fuselage with the automotive paint. The other bits such as the wings will be covered in white acrylic, over which I will paint the grey or silver acrylic colors as required. Note: My white paint is glossy acrylic, could it pose problems with the spray paint sticking onto it? Basically, ze plan. Guide me where I go wrong: 1. Prime the model (Completed) 2. Paint whole thing white acrylic 3. Spray on white paint over the fuselage 4. Paint darker colors and the silver bits using a brush and some Revell and Humbrol acrylics. 5. Attach engines and wheels to models 6. Apply decals 7. Seal it all in with some household glossy, clear varnish. [The kind that comes in a can].

    Alright thanks Chris! I was a bit worried the decal solution might eat into the lacquer or do some other horrible stuff . Now I'll steer clear Will check out Viking, thanks for the help!

    Thank you for ze info! It does say lacquer on the can, so it probably is Will put primer then brush on some white acrylic paint, maybe a couple of really thin layers which will build up to protect the plastic. Then I'll apply the spray paint, in thin layers as you mentioned. If during the process the acrylic in itself looks good enough, I'll forget about the spray paint [wishful thinking ]

    Home at last. A380 videos if anyone wants The only spraypaint I managed to find was the automotive kind. Will do some experimentation to see how it turns out. Looks like the only option at this point. Might do some tests to see if my decal solution and decals are compatible with the spray paint. My plan is to spray the white areas white, paint the other colours using paintbrush method and then stick on the decals. Then seal in everything with some spray on, clear and glossy laquer or varnish. If anyone has had any bad experiences or tips with using automotive paints on models, enlighten me so that I can beware Got a bit of a cold atm, so will resume building over the next couple of days, starting with filling in the cockpit.

    737 decals courtesy of Chris! Thank you very much Chris! I might end up using not just the cockpit decals, but all the decals sent by Chris because they use a slightly newer livery than those provided in the kit. I'll think about it in the summer

    Right so as you may have figured, wasnt able to do any work on this baby over Easter haha. I came close, I found some RC car spray paint that seemed of good quality, but it was ridiculously priced for a tiny can so I'll go to a automotive place over summer and see what cans I can find. If I dont find anything, I'll probably bring the model back to the UK with me and use the trusted Halfords Appliance white on it.

I leave back next weekend. xD dat misunderstanding, sorry You could send it now or after easter, cuz I will have time over easter to finish my model, but I probably should be revising for my end of year exams, so I'll try keep building to a minimum So might save decalling for summer I'll be out from next weekend, so I guess that's too short a timeline to risk for my only source of a cockpit decal , so I'll let you know once I'm back from Easter? NB: Hopefully there'll have loads of build pics coming your way over easter

    I havent managed to get the spray paint and I have exams coming up, and soon I'll be flying back to the UK leaving my incomplete 737-200 behind That means it'll be the way I leave it until I return. So if I come back for the easter break I'll finish it up, otherwise it'll be completed in June

    The kit doesnt have a complete window decal, it has tiny individual windows. Like tiny black rectangles for the cockpit. I guess I'll have to use those then.

    I am slowly continuing to build this plane, and now I have a question regarding the cockpit clear part. I dont really want to have a crystal clear cockpit cuz the inside bit has some strings of glue and looks messy and hollow. So I am thinking of painting the inside of the crystal part black (so that you cant see through the cockpit) and then fixing it onto the model. Or what would you guys recommend?

    My revell acrylic gloss is actually a white mixture which turns transparent, guess that's some sort of pva, wtvr, I'll use it! 😁
