  1. You're right about the fin. Damn! I hadn't noticed. Of course the kit doesn't come with any swastikas, but I've got a few floating around from other kits. I made the same mistake earlier with a Bf-109 F4, but corrected it when it was pointed out.
  2. Hi, all. This is my first ready for inspection. My father gave me this old kit of his to build, the Revell Ju 87 D-5/G-2. https://www.scalemates.com/products/product.php?id=144321 I built the kit for a friend and finished it just in time to visit them for new years. It was a fairly straight forward build. I removed the ubiquitous flash and all the raised detailing and filled in the large gaps around the connections of the wings to the fuselage. Despite the age of the kit I'm very happy with how it came out, so I think I'll tackle some of the other fairly ancient kits I've got in my collection (some more from dad). Happy new year.
  3. Thanks, all. I grabbed the last general upgrade kit from Hannants. Good timing on that order, I didn't know that Alley Cat had gone under. I also grabbed a Pavla nose cone. It's made for the CH kit, but I saw that Navy Bird used one for his MPM/Xtrakit Vixen (see the link below for his build). http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234932239-de-havilland-sea-vixen-faw2-tt-172-xtrakitmpm/
  4. I've recently purchased an MPM Sea Vixen for a good price. However, I've started to wonder if the Cyber Hobby kit might have been a better buy as it seems to have a lot more aftermarket accessories. Does anyone know if either the Pavla or Quickboost nose-cones are a good fit for the MPM kit? Both were designed for the Cyber Hobby kit. Links below. Pavla nose. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/PAVU72133 Quickboost nose. https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/QB72379 Has anyone used the Alley Cat resin parts before? The general upgrade kit looks good, but I'm not sure what I'm looking at in the the Radar Set; it looks like this set was designed to be displayed with the nose swung open? General upgrade https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AC72022C Radar set https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AC72023C Thanks for any help.
  5. Thanks all for the info. I'll look for a Fujimi kit and will mod with the Freightdog conversion.
  6. I recently bought some Xtradecals for my Academy 1/72 Spitfire XIV. I've bought another XIV, a Fujimi kit, but I've still got enough decals for two more kits. I'd like to build one of the XVIII aircraft on the sheet, but a quick google shows that I don't have many options (and ever fewer at my end of the world). Two questions. Which kit builds the best XVIII in 1/72 scale? Secondly, can the Fujimi XIV be easily turned into an XVIII? According to Wiki the XVIII was "was identical in most respects including engine". Did the "revised, stronger wing structure" look any different externally? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarine_Spitfire_%28Griffon-powered_variants%29#Mk_XVIII_.28Mk_18.29_.28type_394.29
