  2. Great F4D, well done. The paint work is really impressive
  3. A great start, Congratulations ! The paint scheme is not easy but you did it, very nice !
  4. Great build and an impressive presentation. Very tempting ! Perfect and flawless!
  5. Thank you, while the allies got "Nose Art" on their planes, this is "Bulge Art"
  6. Nice engine, looks good. The Merlin plans could be handy for me too, at some time
  7. Thanks Val, i am glad you like it. Hopefully my skills has improved since that build
  8. Nice to see a yellow Bearcat, not only in the DSB scheme, your weathering in the panels is looking great, as well the whole kit. Well done ! Trumpeter/Hobbyboss kits are a hit and miss thing, well made but in terms of research often lacking. Anyway, great build, Congratulations
  9. Impressive build with a great scheme ! Looks very good
  10. Outstanding build and great presented. The living proof that a stunning build needs no extra stuff.
  11. Thank you very much for your compliment,Brian. And you are right, modern tool kits in this scale are quite nice detailed right out of the box. This was one of the reasons to start a collection in 1/72. Nice and relaxing builds and not much expensive aftermarked stuff. I am glad you like it
  12. Good luck with these ones ! Being a fan of the Phantom too and build both kits as a boy. The decals of the RN Phantom disentegrated after they hit the water ! Happy modelling Bernd
  13. Thanks for your motivation ! I hope i can do a bit more painting on the Fw s, The next paint will be the darker gray, RLM 74, than masking, RLM 75, again masking and than the mottles
  14. Hi, i have done this "monster" some years ago as U 552 from Kptlt. Topp ( the one with the red devil on the tower) -My kit had a lot of sinkholes on the deck, that will took some time to solve. -The build itself is quite easy, make sure you have some space on your bench. - Build mine straight out of the box, there are some aftermarked stuff available, i guess Eduard Brassin makes a better gun for example. -The paint depends of the boat you will choose. - My paints were Revell colors, i used a blueish tinted dark gray Rv 78 for the underside of the hull, Rv 76 again a bluesh gray, this time a light gray for the upper surfaces and a dark gray for the deck. You will have a free run with washes, dry brushing and any other weathering methods. Currently i am building a Rv Type VIID type in 1/144, which will be presented in the next time here, i did use similar colors. I hope this helped you a bit
  15. Great progress, the extra work will be rewarded in an interesting and rarely seen bird.
  16. Thanks for your reply, good luck with that method :-)
  17. Great build, really nice, not often seen, this type
  18. Thank you very much, the result was quite good, so i thought its worth to be posted It was one of the first builds photographed with our digi cam, i learned that the eye of the camera is unforgiving, so no more macro shots.
  19. Good luck with that, its easy to achieve and yes the afternoon is quite nice, hope yours is running well too Best Bernd
  20. Absolutely, we will live from selling modelling stuff, have a onlineshop since July. Space is my problem too. One of my kits on the bench is a big Revell Ju 88 A-1, the other one is Trumpys Big 1/350 H.M.S Hood. Completely madness to build them. The ship is not a real problem, it will be displayed in a yet to buy display case, to protect it from dust, my other kits are displayed on shelfs and rotate with kits stored on the attic. And there are some other big kits in my stash, big kits are attractive while big and well detailed. The experience to sell the Airfix Typhoon in 1/24 was some sort of bittersweet....... Currently i am tending to smaller ( and cheaper ) stuff, while its wiser, the 1/72 tanks from more modern moulds are very nicely detailed and i got a 1/72 Hawker Typhoon instaed, also a very nice kit. Your D-Day dio should be in a museum, its simply great ! With your current build in mind, i guess your Spitfire in 1/32 will be beyond believe, i am looking forward to this one Cheers Bernd
  21. Hi Stix, thank you very much for the kind works, i am really glad you like this little one. This could be something for you, only the gray is sprayed the white is an acrylic color from Revell ( quite cheap here, as well the kit) The tracks were painted in a mix of Revells rust brown and a metallic color. The whole kit got, after the paint was on, a wash (bath) in a dark acrylic mix I am using acrylics with a special thinner, which slows the drying process. The tracks and parts of the kit were drybrushed with Graphit sanded ndown from a pencil, applied with a soft brush, if you try it out, don t forget a layer of a clear varnish to protect it Cheers Bernd
  22. Thanks Darby, that is really small !
