  1. Great stuff Wayne (& Peter), will be using this thread for when I get round to doing my 1/72 versions. Stuart
  2. Like you Graham, I can't help but tinker with these 1/72 kits. Handles, lifting eyes, etc are a must. Rad looks lovely and is a relatively easy thing to do. Good job. Stuart
  3. What Ed said. Should look fantastic when the paint goes on. Stuart
  4. Such a detailed engine, pity it's going to be hidden. I build in 1/72 and would love to have the odd engine on show. Stuart
  5. Will be interesting to see the tonal difference of the Dunkelgrau over the two primers... Stuart
  6. I'll always listen to those who offer advice, so again, thanks for you input. I have taken another look at this paint job and the photo I took of it and the model. The model's KG3 is darker than that of the photo due to the horrible lighting/flash. IIRC my LMS recollects that Mike Starmer had input into the British armour colours for the AK paints, the only issue is they need to be lightened for scale effect and I think Mike confirmed this. I don't worry about such things, so to that end, I'll be keeping with the paint job that I've done. I must have read your thoughts Pete re painting some plasticard with KG3, now waiting for white decal paper. Stuart
  7. Sorry for neglecting this thread, have been busy with other stuff like wargaming figures/afv's/helicopters, a club group build and generally not firing on all cylinders after my COVID booster. Anyway's... Tail feathers added, just needs a little PPP to fair things in...looking very much a T-33 tail. The kit comes with two exhaust stubs and tell you to make a third which I duly done and fitted. Why make only two . Wing/fuselage joins made good with gloop/filler, then it was time to think about the canopy. The canopy is vacform and there was a temptation to cut off the sliding canopy and pose it open but with only the one, I decided against it and it will stay closed, the glazing is nice and clear anyway. The access doors on the real thing are attached to the sliding canopy, so they slide back with the canopy and are moulded with the canopy and there are separate parts too. The fuselage has recesses for these 'doors' which you can be cut out if you want to pose them open or fill them with with the canopy or parts...talk about complicated. Either way, the recesses need to be deepened and once that's done I'll try both options to see what's the best. I'm still faffing about with the remodelled spinner and getting it to look nice and in between things a drew-up a spinner in F360 and passed it to a club member to 3D print. I'll see which is the best out of the two and go with that. Stuart
  8. Nice to see this on the move Rob and as is your way, the detail is there from the start. Stuart
  9. Thanks for all your input @PeterB. This image of a 1A https://wwiitank.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/guy-armoured-cars.jpg and your 'pamphlet' link showing a top view indicates that what I've done is about right, just got to work out if it's worth while changing my dark green to a deep bronze green. Stuart
  10. My seed of an idea was obviously genetically modified to get to your seed derivative Stuart
  11. Nice interior. A little weathering wouldn't go amiss Rob, just for that nosey lot (like me) that looks inside if you leave a door/canopy open. Stuart
  12. It'll be interesting to see what you do with this 'rip-off'. Stuart
  13. Now we come to the interesting bit...painting. Stuart
  14. Thanks for the info John, my go to is: https://www.mafva.org/british-vehicle-camouflage-1939-45/?v=79cba1185463 and then tweak to suit. I tend to agree Pete in part the above link to the MAFVA site lists a disrupter of Dark Green No.4 or Light Green No.5. Anyway's... The Dark Green goes on and...I don't know. The few photos that do exist with the 1940's disruptor pattern on Guys don't show up very well so I have kept to the 'less is more' ethos but...I don't know. Not sure what to do with those turret holes in the top, do I paint them the internal colour or simulate depth and paint them black? Obviously I'm in a 'I don't know' mood today. Stuart
  15. Nice work Jon and your deck has worked well. Is the 'decking' something generic, if so, where did you get it? Stuart
  16. Stunning build there Bertie. You've used what you called older techniques like washes and dry brushing to good effect, my go to. Well done. Staurt
  17. Looking great. I have to agree with @sardaukar with the number on the bench atone time, recipe for disaster in my book. That aside, it's good to see them side by side to see the differences. Stuart
  18. Love the cockpit work and as you mentioned, looks busy. Floatplane version would be my choice 'cos I have lots of floatplanes to build. Stuart
