  1. A nice looking coaxial helo, looks the biz. Any problems with making your own decals as I plan to do a bit of this with the lack of decal options?
  2. In most cases I'd agree but unfortunately once you open the hood, the eyes will go in and it'll need to 'look' right. As has already been mentioned, keep it minimal; seats, belts...in your face things.

  6. Seeing that I can use the Bedford QL, I'm getting one at the nationals but not by Airfix but by Hobby Master. I saw one of these at model show a month or so ago and it looked very nice but talked myself out of it thinking it was outside my time frame. It has metal cab, injection plastic sprues, clear glazing, decals. Can't vouch for it's accuracy though.   7. I remember using them for engines fitted to a couple Gladiators that I did years ago and as far as I can remember, they were quite good and looked the part when fitted. And as you say, if they are a bit big, use a section and just open the one panel.
  8. Cheers guys for the pointers, that 'tracks & troops' site will take a while to look through once I know what I'm looking for. Just thinking, would the Bedford QL refueler still be use with the RAF 'till 1956?

  10. Sgt, no cheekiness detected and I understood your initial response. I'll take a look at what you've posted and get back to you, especially about the tractor.
  11. The idea is to make small vignettes using vehicles alongside F86 Sabres which were used by numerous nations from say 1950 until the 80's I believe. Vehicles like fuel tenders, ammo trucks, small transports, etc. In the short term I'll say; US in Korea, Canadian at home/ France/ Germany & RAF at home/ Germany...all in the 50's. What I don't know is when they were abroad, did they use local stuff or bring their own...or both. I know it's 'wooly' but that's the best I can do at the moment.

  15. A nice bunch of spits. Fav is UF-P, love the desert scheme. Weirdest spit must be the VIII, can't get my head round those extended wings
  16. Generally, I think early British armour has been by-passed for a long time, hopefully companies like Bronco will get round to filling this void.
  17. Chris, as modellers, we build with what's available at the time for the money. This was the only kid on the block at the time, maybe it still is. I've also built 1/35 Churchill by Cromwell, will post images of this when I get round to it. Stuart
  18. I have Hobbycraft/ Academy/ Fujimi & Airfix Sabre kits, and with my limited exposure and what's been posted on the forums, would put Airfix at the bottom. So crack on with the Academy kit.

  20. Looking forward to this decal sheet, but decals are known to be wrong occasionally. Of course the IEAF had aircraft in NMF also, so as long as the roundel is correct, you can get serials and do them as well.
  21. Thanks for all the comments. If my memory serves me correctly, paints were definitely enamels, possibly by 'White Ensign'. I'm not a lover of keeping anything clean but I can't weather either so most things tend to get a wash of some description.
