I would very much like to look/ borrow the book until I can get a copy myself...Ipswich Model Show?
-
Hi Julien, thanks for the offer but I also have the Model Alliance sheet but after being informed that the sheet might be wrong for the a/c I was interested in, I thought I'd try and prove that it was correct. Sabrejet has posted the pic to confirm, so everything is good.

Beautiful pic there SJ, thought you might come to the rescue.

Does anybody have an image of CL-13 Mk2 Sabre, serial 19241, AX-241 to support the Model Alliance decal sheet? And can anyone tell me what gunsight was fitted this variant of a/c? Stuart

Would you believe it. Refine your google search and up pops Model Alliance 72120 decal sheet...been looking ages!

Hi All, I'm currently cleaning kit parts to build a RCAF Mk 2 Sabre. I'm wanting to finish this a/c of a front line squadron in NMF but I'm having trouble in tracking a 1/72 decal sheet for such a beastie. Can anyone point me in the right direction to a suitable decal sheet? I quite like this aircraft: 421Sqn, RCAF I don't mind doing DIY decals but Ican't find the appropriate emblem for the time... Regards, Stuart

They do command a hefty price tag, I saw a WNW kit at 'Fly Navy' Show at Shuttleworth last weekend and it was over £250!
-
Not my scale but if WNW are selling out so quickly, maybe they should make bigger batches...
-
Absolutely fantastic work Ian, and in 1/72 too!

Phoenix, after the discussion in the WW1 section, I'm glad to see your work...and very nice it is too. The rigging makes all the difference on bi-planes and especially so on the Fee, beautiful. The Beardmore looks awesome but I might just take Limeypilot's suggestion and have a look at Choroszy offering if they do one. -
Well, I think you should finish what you've started, so that means the Tornado...my choice anyway. Stuart

A lovely looking Honduran Sabre, already on my list to build.

A very interesting jig you have there Ian, looks like something that holds your bones together!

I must confess that reference material is my weakness, I'm not one for spending lots of money on a book for one build. I wasn't aware of the the dedicated WW1 site you stated and looks rather interesting. An interesting Formaplane build Steve.

WingNutWings FE2B Viking's FE2B RIP Between the two, one should be able to build the Beardmore engine, all we need is a scale? Stuart
-
Hi P, thanks for the input as being the author and I will certainly pm you when I'm closer to the build. I haven't had much need to do anythig with plunge moulding so it would be very new to me but if needs must... Scratch building the Beardmore engine sounds interesting and hopefully the reference you suggest should help. Stuart

Yes, you could say that. It's only a recent thing but the Sabre stash is growing. I like the CAC Sabres and I have a few of the Tasman conversion kits to help me along. Just wish that Aztec would reprint their decal sheet. Sabre are lovely, lovely, lovely...and Fury's of course. Stuart
-
What Sabres are you doing? The Ethiopian Sabre will be interesting to see. The South American Sabres will be problem decal wise Stuart
