  1. A bit weird that, I have just finished re-reading the AMW article on this build, very impressive. Stuart
  2. Looking good Steve, especially the last image...lovely . Come on Terry, look at your signature, you've enough started . Stuart
  3. Looking very nice Steve. Stuart
  4. It's all in the detail. Keep it coming. Stuart
  5. Good recovery with the slats, every inch a 109 . Now get some paint on her. Stuart
  6. Hell no, they should be in display cases surely! Can we have some more float planes, I like float planes...please. Stuart
  7. 'Perfect Plastic Putty' or similar. You can fill in your corrugations and when dry, you can sand it or you can remove what's necessary with a damp cotton bud or a wet finger. Stuart
  8. I wouldn't use CA in this case, to hard and you'd sand down too much plastic, I'd use something softer. Stuart
  9. Using what I had at hand, I ran a experiment using plasticard as the canvas as this will is what the floating jetty is going to be made of. I found this and gave it a try. Grey Halford's primer, washed with Humbrol's 'dark wash', followed by grey and green pastels. The image doesn't do it justice but on the bench, it looks ok. I think if I go a little lighter and vary the plank tones as Kev says, it'll look better. I might be good to go and started building these 'floaty things'. Stuart
  10. Never heard of it but it's an interesting 1/72 subject. Will be interesting to see what you do with what I think, is a rather heavy 'corrugation' but what do I know. Stuart
  11. Good to see some progress Gregs . I have a 1/72 Short Crusader by Karaya on my birthday/ Christmas list.... Stuart
  12. Well, how things change, you learn something everyday. Good find but it still holds that you need to build from an image if you want to be accurate. Stuart
  13. Thanks guys, let's see what those railway guys do. Stuart
  14. Hi guys, slowly plodding along on this between other builds and killing/ raking moss from my back lawn. The instructions show the lower hull as a lighter tone to that of the upper and this is confirm by images on the 'net' but I only have one shade of black (indeed their is only one shade of black) so I've the darkest grey I've got and that is Tamiya's German Grey XF63. Lower hull was masked off and everything else was painted using a rattle-can of Halford's Satin Black. Next stop will be a localised coating of Klear prior to 'stickers' going on. Stuart
  15. Question for you guys on painting wood effect. The odd bit of wood effect I'm okay with, something like a buff/ sand base and then add/ remove burnt umber oil. But how would go about doing something a bit weathered like this: TIA. Stuart
  16. Fantastic Steve, a true multimedia build. Stuart
  17. oohh, a working door. Will the door clips work Stuart
  18. That PE is looking rather smart. What are using to fix it all together? Stuart
