  1. Nor have I John. Bovington has one here. The clean up. Inspection of the hull found 3 out the four wheel fenders broken... So new fenders were made. The centres of the lifting eyes were drilled out. The rest was cleaned up as best as you can without a primer coat on. The rest of was cleaned carefully. The tie rods are a lost cause, I could easily knock something up but they're underneath and behind the wheel, so I shan't bother. Exhaust outlet was broken off. One of the headlamps is missing but images show that these were always in a state, so I shan't bother about that either. Think the little searchlight is missing too. Bound to be bubbles that need filling. A careful wash and away we go. Stuart
  2. Indeed, explains why there was parts debris in the bag. Fortunately, it looks like the parts that are broken are things that go underneath like track rods. There may be some little parts missing, we'll see soon enough. Stuart
  3. Coming along great but I think you need to increase your image size. Stuart
  4. With that lovely engine there's an opportunity for detail and the bonnet up... Stuart
  5. Hi all. While I'm flitting about with builds in another GB, I thought I'd start this as a 'slow burn' until the others are complete. I have a number of subjects that could fit into this GB, so I thought I'd start off with this Guy Armoured Car Mk. 1/1A by Milicast in their 1/76 scale. The obligatory stuff: The box. The resin parts...with breakages . The instructions. According to the above, the only difference between the Mk. 1 and the 1A is the weapons. Clean up time I guess. Stuart
  6. Cheers Steve. The kit is very nice and fitting together very well with the odd exception. Panel lines are nice and fine with the odd one being heavy...can't have everything. Pilot, cockpit and oxygen bottles fitted in lovely. With the cockpit in and secure, the wings, carb intake and tail feathers were fitted. A little PPP was needed here and there. Also had to fill in a couple of circles on the underside as per instructions. Stuart
  7. Thanks, much appreciated. I left Courageous not long after the Falklands and went into Polaris until I left the RN. Stuart
  8. If you have a cocktail stick, some Isopropyl alcohol (IPA), you should get rid of it and it doesn't affect the clear parts...works for me. Stuart
  9. The Spit has had another bit gloop added to sort the seems out. The F6C has had a primer coat applied, so 'Awesome' can get a little attention. After working out exactly where the cockpit sits, the I/P and rear wall were reworked to fit. Once happy, I decided to add a little detail, nothing much, just some tube framing and side panels. Seat has been cleaned up and needs some belts, scratch a control stick, do all this and you'll see diddly-squat through the cockpit hole...keeps me on the ball. I'd like to try and open the canopy but it looks a little tricky. Stuart
  10. A bit more progress... Tail feathers pinned, holes made and are now fitted at the back end. Milliput on front wings sanded and now everything has had another coat of primer. Not too bad but a few bits need to be tidied up. Stuart
  11. Yep, just need to finish others and I'll be there. Stuart
  12. This kit looks really nice, especially after I built their previous offering. Good work so far. Stuart
  13. Sometimes you've just got to get stuck in. A bit of a social weekend, so not much has been done... Slapped a little Milliput on to the wings which will need obvious redial work. Because the wing pin supports worked well, thought I'd do a similar thing with the tail feathers, I'll shorten the pins and will fit into a hole. Stuart
  14. It is a nice kit considering it's from 1998 (Scalemates), only downside so far is the lack of cockpit detail and an all-in-one canopy. Nothing happening to day, too many beers. Stuart
  15. It wouldn't be a Bullbasket build without selecting the most difficult type to build...looking forward to it. Stuart
  16. You can always do some subtle weathering with oxidisation, seaweed and barnacles if that is the case... Stuart
  17. Good corrective there Alexey. That bottom red looks a good match to the decals. Stuart
  18. That hull should look beautiful when has had its 'bling' applied. Stuart
