  1. That 'bedstead' radar must've been a nightmare, looks great. Stuart
  2. Stickers... Decals went on lovely although anything bigger than a stencil needed a bit more encouragement to move off the backing paper. Bedding down nicely with only a little Sol needed. Stuart
  3. As it does me. Any build I do ideally should have doors/engine hoods or canopy to open to add interest. Looking great so far. Stuart
  4. Very nice start . Question: Are the cooling radiators part of the surface detail? Question: What paint and colour are you using for the radiators? Stuart
  5. Don't know why I was thinking 'black' , also don't think any Guy's made it to the desert. It's either BEF or the UK, so it's going to be green... To that end, I'll raid my decal box. Stuart
  6. Hi Admin, can you unhide this please: Guy Armoured Car post Stuart
  7. I usually have a hatch or two open on my vehicles if I can as it adds interest and gives you a chance to add some detail. This will be my second Milicast build, my first was this: and they do have some lovely detail and I've used Milicast figures too as well as those from Wee Friends. The decals shouldn't be a problem as I recently acquired myself a laser printer, so shouldn't be too difficult to do some black 'T' serials. Stuart
  8. With that bit of info... I fitted out the turret for a Mk.1. Silly little bits like the exhaust was repair and fitted. Jack fitted. Made some headlights and fitted them. Fitted the drivers visor, that's the hull done. Turret was fitted out with its Mk.1 twin Vickers and hatches posed open. Everything was then primed. Stuart
  9. A bit more done... Everything was primed before a coat of AS-12 Tamiya silver. I now foresee a problem as the decaling looms, namely the spinner colour as it has to match(ish) to the 'go faster' stripes and roundels. Instructions call for Mr Hobby H327, so I've ordered a pot and we'll see. Gloss coat tonight prior to decals. Stuart
  10. I followed the link to Postimage (that's who I'm with) and done what I do to paste an image 'et viola' Once you have a single image, right click on the image and select 'copy image address' and paste hit in your thread....as above. Looking great by the way. Stuart
  11. More work... Wing halves joined together eventually. The wheel wells were too think/deep and prevented them from meeting. In the end after much filing, there was no plastic left, so I skimmed the inside of the upper wing with plasticard and filled any gaps with PPP. Fuselage halves were also joined with no real hassle. Although the outer nose is nice and round, not so the inner, a bit of work is required there. The gaping hole is 15mm across and flags another problem. The kit propeller backplate is checked against the hole diameter and its undersize by a bit. See here. I reckon that I need to make a new propeller backplate/spinner... Stuart
  12. You obviously like 251s, why build only a /1...just asking. Stuart
  13. Looking very nice. It's great to see what can be done in these smaller scales. Stuart
  14. My thoughts exactly...and I would like to know how he made them look so...wooden? Stuart
  15. Those JATO parts look fabulous Martin, should look the biz after a paint job. Stuart
  16. With the tub built as above, I tried fitting the fuselage halves together and you guessed it, they wouldn't. The I/P, floor and rear wall were all filed and eventually the halves joined. With this done, the rest of the tub tubing and panels were fitted. Fitted some 'tape' belts to the seat. Fuselage innards, cockpit tub and seat all got a couple of coats of Humbrol light grey. The I/P had a gloss coat before loads of generic dials were added and later sealed before fitting into the fuselage. Stuart
