  1. In an earlier Email; Arma said it would be their first two sprues kit - so probably a large single engine or small twin engine aircraft - let the speculations begin: If they go for Polish Airforce 1940 - the PZL 38 Wilk or its devlopment the PZL 48 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PZL.38_Wilk If they go for a large single engine - Po-2 in its many variants. If they want to compete with Airfix/Az - MiG-17 or MiG-19. If they want to surprise us - Shcherbakov Shche-2 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shcherbakov_Shche-2 For further ideas: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retired_aircraft_of_the_Polish_Air_Force
  2. It is just about to get into RAF service and the RNoAF ones are still some way down Boeings assembly line - expected delivery in 2021-2022. According to one of the officers involved in the projects, the RNoAF P-8s will only differ from the RAF ones by having a coffee machine instead of a tea maker. So it is too early, besides BPK has a Boeing 737-800 in the works http://bigplaneskits.com/boxart-for-737-800-1-72/#comment-37334 If Airfix wants to get Christmas cards from Norwegian modellers, promise us a stretched C-130J in 1:72 or a T-6 Harvard in 1:72 & 1:48.
  3. He 111 available for Airfix resarch team: He 111P-2 in Flysamlingen outside Oslo - the He 111 P and Hs have different engines, they did measure up this aircraft He 111H-20 in the RAF museum - a much later model A number of Spanish built He 111s with RR Merlin engines The only early He 111H that I know about being reasonably complete is a H-3 restoration project: http://www.nofmf.org/html/heinkel.html
  4. There is an original Ju 52/3m at Gardermoen, so if they didn`t Lidar it at the same time as the He 111 - they can do it too. Most Ju 52/3m in museums are French or Spanish built, the one at Gardermoen is German built and restored after staying in a lake since 1940 - a time capsule. I have seen the abomination in Sinsheim and my first thought was to get hold of a fire axe to destroy it - we have two proper Ju 88s under restoration in Norway and another in Berlin, A small British museum has a Ju 88a1 cockpit originating from Norway as well.
  5. And it is available in kit form for scanning in an Airfix-friendly museum two hours flying time from London: https://www.flysam.no/utstillingen/flyene/junkers-ju-88a-1/ Definitely an A1 with the single MG for defense
  6. Hei, S & M models had a resin Vickers Viking, it has ben out of stock for a while. http://sandmmodels.co.uk/product/vickers-viking/ An Airbus 330 tanker is of interest to North European modellers since a number is on order for a combined unit,
  7. In my opinion, Airfix is only likely to kit something flown by British units or their possible opponents and preferably multiple versions possible. After the weak sales of the Nimrod, they will probably avoid modern maritime aircraft. If the cooperation with Academy on 1:35 tanks spills over to 1:72 aircraft we could see their B-29 issued as a Washington as well as the Catalina in RAF markings I would be very happy to see a good stretched C-130J and Curtiss C-46 Commando,
  8. Hei, Hannants stocks Eastern Express, however the DASH-8 400s are still not in their catalogue. https://www.hannants.co.uk/manufacturer/eastern-express/products?product_type_id=1821&search_direction=asc&scale_id=957
  9. Vingtor has reprinted decals for Norwegian CF-104s and included markings for LN-STF, the civilian registered flying Starfighter. http://www.vingtor.net
  10. My guess - a complete set of King Jan Sobielski and his Winged Hussars figures...
  11. Could Begemot consider including markings for the PE 2FT under restoration in Norway? Also a good selection of cockpit pictures in the links below: http://www.toredgarolsen.net/petlyprosjekt.htm https://blhf.org/Petlyakov-PE-2-FT http://www.vhu.cz/vhu-ziskal-jedinecny-exemplar-prosluleho-sovetskeho-bombarderu-pe-2/
  12. Will there be separate boxings for non-Soviet users like Italy, Spain and Romania?
  13. Would it be possible to build a civilian passenger plane from this without having to shave off too many sensors and hard points?
  14. Hei, Is there really a Mosquito on display in Telford or should it be Cosford or Duxford where I believe there are Mosquito T35s?
  15. I fully support this - it fits with the other trainers released by Airfix and it has been in service with many other countries as well besides the UK. They can probably release a new variant every year, but they need to be clever when it comes to getting the variants right.
  16. So what versions of the Lysander will they release? I can think of British army-coop of 1940 with light bombs and messages bags for use over France. Finland army-coop of WW2. Target tug over Britain and Canada British air-sea rescue Special duties flight - the most interesting version in my opinion Other users: Irish Air Corps (six Mk II) Turkish Air Force (36 Mk II) Portuguese Air Force (eight Mk IIIA) USAAF (25), Indian Air Force (22), Egyptian Air Force(20)
  17. No SAS decals? https://www.youtube.com/embed/DAZ-IDhhe8s
  18. With Moson Model Show taking place on 27-28th April could it be an opportunity to get a few Sunderlands fresh from the mould. The price of the kit is one thing, and then you have the resin and p/e extras that double the total...
  19. All in 1/72 unless otherwise noted Cold War resupply set with tanker, ammo and fire truck as well as RAF regiment armoured car and troops manning a Rapier battery to protect a forward based Harrier Desert Storm resupply set with ground crews in MOPP suits loading up a Buccaneer with LGBs and Wimik LandRovers surrounding the area. C-130J including stretched version T-6 Texan / Harvard, later to be done in 1/48 as well Junkers Ju 88A - both the 1:1 ones in Norway are getting close to finished and ready to be LIDARed F-35A/B - if accessible P-8A Poseidon - just have to wait until the RAF get them delivered Junkers Ju 52/3m - we have an original one they can measure up in Norway. Heinkel He 115 - we have one they can measure up in Norway. Short Sunderland - rebox of Special Hobby whenever they have it ready Hawker Hurricane Mk.I metal wing - rebox of Arma AW101 - rescue and assault versions Sikorsky S-92 HM Coast Guard SAR helicopter AW 139 HM Coast Guard SAR helicopter Dogfight doubles: Harrier vs Argentina Skyhawk MiG-17 vs USN Skyhawk Buccaneer vs Torrey Canyon Fairmile D vs E-boat Fairmile D MTB followed by MGB Other scales: Reboxings of some of Zvezdas 1/144 airliners in BA and other British markings QE & PoW carriers in 1/350
  20. They are going for moulds that can be changed to give multiple versions; both the Buccaneer and the MiG-17 are likely be released in several iterations over the years to come. Two new cold war kits, but only variations of earlier WW2 releases this time.
  21. Happy to see a new Pe-2 to modern standards in 1/72, especially if Begemot also scales down their decal sheet. Maybe Zvezda will come around to do a decent MiG-3 as well one day. And I am also happy to see more airliners from Zvezda, both Western and Russian
  22. For a sort of walk-around of the still not finished second An 225: https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/antonov-an-225-kiev-ukraine/index.html
  23. Could it be that they go for a Soviet or French aircraft flown by Polish pilots. French Caudron C.714, Morane-Saulnier M.S.406 & Koolhoven F.K.58 were flown during the battle of France. Soviet Yakovlev Yak-1, Yak-7, Yak-9, Petlyakov Pe-2 & Ilyushin Il-2 were used by Polish units under Soviet control and formed the nucleus of the newPolish AF. It would be nice to have a modern 1:72 kit of the Pe-2 or either Yakovlev. There is a Pe-2 and two Yak-9Ps in Polish museums available for measuring up. British/US HP Halifax and Lancaster are a bit large for a small company Mosquito FB IV and NF XIII more manageable Hurricane IIC could probably use some of the lessons learned from the first Hurricane kit Mustang Mk.III and IV were flown by Polish squadrons later in the war.
  24. Cheaper than the resin kit from Kora Koras resin kit
  25. Hei, They are releasing AFVs/tanks in 1/72 & 1/35, airliners and transports in 1/144, military aircraft in 1/144, 1/72 & 1/48 and an Imperial Star Destroyer lately. So yes, they are releasing a mix of completely new moulds and updated/old moulds. http://zvezda.org.ru/en/ According to the their web site is the T-35 in 1/72 with 237 parts recommended for 7 years and older - so Russian modellers are quite good from an early age!
