As a foreign visitor to Britmodeller with English as my tertiary language, I just did a copy and paste of the contents in an Email originating from England. I still think the meaning is clear; the 1:72 Beaufort kit is close to seling out and Airfix is doing another production run. It is a really nice kit of an often overlooked WW2 aircraft and deserve to be a bestseller - enabling the team in Margate to develop new releases.

Just got this message from Airfix and it is still on Hannants top selling list (number 4 this week) - so sales must meet expectations: 1:72 Bristol Beaufort Mk.1 Less than 20 remaining We have less than 20 in stock at Airfix.com. But please don't worry if you miss out, we are expecting further stock to arrive soon!

1/144 - Lun-class MD-160 Ekranoplan by Takom - released
LN-KEH replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
It would be nice to have in 1/72 - showing its size compared to other Soviet/Russian aircraft. Goes with the other flying boats intended for operation with the Northern Fleet close to Norwegian waters. In 1:350 ship scale, it would be too small for Takom to bother. Interior pictures in the link below and YouTube has a story to tell https://zen.yandex.ru/media/lanasator/ekranoplan-lun-proekta-903-v-derbente-udalos-oboiti-ohranu-i-popast-vnutr-5f30e9b9bbe8572b801cebe9- 49 replies

The C-46 was used by some of the most popular to model air arms: China, Israeli Air Force, Japan Air Self-Defense Force, South Korean Air Force. United States Air Force, United States Marine Corps & United States Navy And civilian operators like Lufthansa, FOF in Norway and the ones hauling cargo in Alaska and Northern Canada are also quite popular. I think the boxtop shows one of the rebuilt Il-2s flying with an Allison engine causing the propeller to rotate in the opposite direction.

In the list as AerolĂneas Peruanas - one of their aircraft even got hijacked and flown to Cuba!

They are still remembered here in Norway for an attempted landing in the Oslofjord instead of at the airport some distance away. The captain who was flying the aircraft was unable to communicate with ATC due the language barrier, fortunately another crew member understood the "climb, climb, climb for Gods sake" calls from Oslo tower. I have visited the one on display in Switzerland - it is a true narrow-body and as it was powered by four of the same thirsty engines as the F-104 Starfighter must have been a nightmare make a profit on. Definitely going to be one in SAS markings for me and possibly one for SPANTAX which operated charter flights from Norway to Spain. With only 37 Convair 990 Coronados made, they saw service with quite a few airlines; AerolĂneas Argentinas AerolĂneas Peruanas Air France (one aircraft leased in 1967) Alaska Airlines American Airlines AREA (Ecuador) Cathay Pacific Ciskei International Airways Denver Ports of Call Iran Air Garuda Indonesian Airways Internord Aviation LANICA (Nicaragua) Lebanese International Airways Middle East Airlines Modern Air Transport NASA Nomads Travel Club Nordair Northeast SAS Spantax Swissair Thai Airways International Varig

With the T-6 / Harvard used by most nations considered friendly by the US, I would expect a couple of more boxings. A US trainer version is likely and a FAC version for the Korean conflict should be possible without too much of an effort. Throw in some resin armament and you get the armed versions of France, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Syria. And with most NATO members using the aircraft as trainers, a European boxing is likely to sell well on the continent without SH having to deal with British customs.

We have the Polish gift to Soviet agriculture - the jet powered M-15 Belphegor - it is rather large and I am surprised that Amodel haven`t blessed us with a 1:72 kit of this monster since they appears to like strange aircraft. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PZL_M-15_Belphegor M-15 is the world's only jet agricultural aircraft (i.e., the world's only jet cropduster), as well as the world's only jet biplane and the world's slowest jet aircraft, at least amongst aircraft that have been put in mass production.

The aircraft of the same name was used by Australia and Argentina - so more marking options. On the other hand, the Manchester was used during WW2 and an interesting comparison to the Lancaster. Would be a nice quad boxing from Airfix; Manchester, Lancaster, Lincoln & Shackleton

Was there ever a Modelcraft Norseman, I have only seen the one from Matchbox (later released by Revell)?

Why should the bankruptcy of SquadronSignal in Texas influence the availability of Microscale products in the rest of the world? Microscale is a different company located in California, with SquadronSignal being just one of many shops selling their stuff. Hannants just need to find another way to get their products to England - some of the flammable liquids need special handling http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=MD&Category_Code=FINPROD&Product_Code=&Search=&Sort_By=newest&Per_Page=20

The 1:1 C-17 Globemaster III has a more widespread distribution than many other US types, besides the USA it also flies with the markings of Australia, Canada, the UK, NATO/Hungary, India and a couple of Arab states. So Kinetic should be able to sell it in more countries than just the US just by adding some extra markings.

A Douglas DC8-30 - SAS has arrived thanks to Hannants and Parcelforce. Looks like one of the better Mach2 kits with decent surface details, but the window openings need a bit of cleaning up I had to stop taking pieces off the sprues after my favorite snips broke when attempting to cut a wing off the sprues - the Mach2 molding gates defeated the Japanese steel snips I had.

They have also kitted in 1:35 the TAM tank made in Argentina (with a bit of German assistance). https://dukelhobbies.com.ar/tienda/militaria-modelos/militaria-dukel-hobbies/militaria-dukel-hobbies-1-35/tam-tanque-argentino-mediano/

ICM probably has all its development, tooling and production facilities in Kyev, so they don`t have to deal with all the issues of deliveries stuck for months in transit. They do still have some issues after leaving the Soviet Union, I think the EU will be less vengeful in their attitude towards the UK. ICM kits are easily available here in Norway, either by mail order directly from Ukraine or in specialist model shops. Their MiG-25 are state of the art and even a habitual 1:72 modeller gets tempted by their large Gloster Gladiator and Tiger Moth kits. 1/35 35800 WC (Field Toilet) (100% new molds) NEW - I quarter Does it come with figures inside and queuing outside having the proper strained look?

One option is the one transferred to the RSwAF after making an emergency landing in Sweden - decals are available from mooserepublic.se https://www.forcedlandingcollection.se/USAAF/USAAF053-440513-zhub.html

New Arma Hobby models to be announced tomorrow 30 December
LN-KEH replied to TEMPESTMK5's topic in The Rumourmonger
And they do read this forum - see this little note at the bottom of their release announcement. It makes perfect sense for Eduard to release a Hurricane kit with Arma sprues, no long wait for a container with plastic to arrive from Japan and the quality is on par with the best. COOPERATION WITH EDUARD Eduard, a prestigious manufacturer of plastic accessories and models, proposed a repacking of the Arma Hobby Hurricane Mk I model. The Limited Edition model with Eduard accessories is expected to be released in the third quarter of 2021. As we are no accessories manufacturer, we would try with Eduard to offer exclusive value pack kits to modellers. There were some rumours on forums that Arma Hobby designed moulds for Eduard or Special Hobby. No, we didn’t, and we are just sprues supplier to Eduard. -

From Vladimir Sulc editorial in Eduards December 2020 Info regarding the 1:72 Bf 109E kit April will see the release of Adlerangriff 1:72 and it will share the marking options of its bigger brothers, even though there may be minor changes made. In terms of the plastic. This will come from the Bf 109E Special Hobby kit, which came about as a co-operative effort between Special Hobby and Eduard. Our share of the work is less significant, and more of the work was handled by our colleagues at Special Hobby, who took our original 1:48th scale kit and altered it, corrected it, generally modernised it, brought it in line with the latest research available, and put it into production. Development of the kit was also taken part in by a third party, which, for now, would like to remain anonymous, but also put forth a wonderful effort. It was the third party that made the moulds, and that produces the plastic. We all worked together to put this kit into production within five months. If you would like to know if such co-operative efforts will continue, the answer is yes. I like Special Hobby and their kits, but they seem to take their time from kit concept to release - fast turn-around does not seem to be their strength. With the current slow-down of transport, the third party is likely to be found in trucking distance from Praha - and I am quite sure it isn`t team Muzikant in AZ/KP. And Arma has built a reputation for quality and short time from concept to release. With a Me 109E kit, Arma can release dogfight doubles with the PZL 11 and Hurricane kits.
