And the Shuttleworth Collection flew its late production Sopwith Camel earler this year - another one easily available to Airfix research team for measuring and LIDARing. http://www.shuttleworth.org/news/sopwithcamel_firstflight/ The Sopwith Camels in IWM and RAFM were hard to access last time I saw them. There are no surviving Fokker triplanes or drawing sets to go by, only more or less believable replicas - so a no-starter if Airfix is to stick to its documentation rules. So where is the Avro 504K that I have predicted/wanted?

Could we get this in 1:72 scale as well? -
When the Airfix team measured up the He 111P at Oslo-Gardermoen, rumors say that they did another aircraft at the same time. There is a fairly complete Ju 88A-1 under restoration there, as well as complete Ju 52/3m - and BE2e/f

- ref. 7245 - Focke Wulf Fw.44D & F Stieglitz - Swiss & Danish service Source: https://www.lfmodels.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2502 Did the Stieglitz serve with the Danish air arms at all? I know there were many of them in Sweden and Finland, and a batch was ordered by the Norwegian Army Arm for delivery early in 1940 - but delivery did not take place due to the worsening of the Norwegian-German relationship in April 40.

Guessing in 1:72: Sopwith Camel - Airfix old mold outdated and there are drawings and full size aircraft to measure. Avro 504K - Airfix old mold outdated and there are drawings and full size aircraft to measure. Bristol Fighter - Airfix old mold outdated and there are drawings and full size aircraft to measure. Albatros DV - Airfix old mold outdated and there are drawings and full size aircraft to measure. Fokker Triplan - must be some reasonably reliable drawings available - one of the most iconic WW1 aircraft BE2e - full size aircraft available to measure up, can use BE2c mold for some parts Westland Lysander special agent duties - full size aircraft to measure up during restoration at Cosford T-6 / Harvard - plenty of originals available to measure up, can be released in multiple versions and colour schemes - Airfix has done other RAF training aircraft lately Boeing B-29 Washington - since they have done the V-bombers, original at Duxford to measure up when it was out of the building. Junkers Ju 52m/3 - available for measuring up in Norway, comes with a stick of paratroopers Blackburn Skua/Roc - partially available for measuring up in Norway Heinkel He 115 - available for measuring up in Norway Supermarine Walrus - scaling down from 1:48 Hawker Sea Fury - scaling down from 1:48

Dekno and the man behind it is Spanish, so the second one is definitely not a foreign colour scheme. It is hard to find documentation on interesting pointy wing Hornet Moths - if you have some, contact Dekno. Square wing versions are planned, including the Danish machine used by Thomas Christian Sneum for the flight that inspired Ken Follett to write the "Hornet Flight" novel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hornet_Flight

New mount for "Porco Rosso" -
I think they were surprised as to how fast it did sell out last E-day, but that Saturday evening did Eduards shelves in general look like shops in the old days behind the Iron Curtain - they had to do some major restocking overnight. KE

The Ye-152M looks like a Hollywood invention; canards, enormous wingtip missiles and a front hinged canopy - cool.

My favorite in that listing is the humble SN72007 Kriegsfischkutter in 1/72, basically a modified fishing vessel used by the German Navy as a patrol and support vessel. Great diorama potential, picking up downed airmen at sea, mine sweeping, defending convoys and alongside in harbors. Some went to other navies at the end of the war, Norway received nine, France and the Soviet Union more than that. MVH Knut Erik

We might see a B-29 Washington with RAF and RAAF markings in a year or two, the old Airfix offering is well past its best before date and the Academy kit does not make any money for Hornby. They have done well with the V-bombers and the B-29 is the next four engined bomber when going back in time. KE

Nils, On the web page he writes that the kits are made to order and you can expect a waiting time of at least 30 days according to the web site. CAUTION: All our models are made to order. TAKES ABOUT 30 DAYS IN MANUFACTURE AND SHIPPING. Depending on the destination of the packet it can take up to two months to arrive. IF YOU CAN NOT WAIT PLEASE NOT MAKE PURCHASE. I wrote him using the contact form on the web page, asking for my order to be changed from Spanish to Norwegian version and got a positive reply the same evening. http://scratchaviation.webs.com/contacto MVH Knut Erik

Hei, We know that Airfix will only make kits when they either have access to the original or proper documentation and being Anglocentric, preferring to produce something that has been in British service or an opponent. They also like to be able to release multiple boxings. So what I can think of thats fit the above in 1:72: BE2e by adding new new wings to the BE2c kit, they are then halfway to an RE 8 Avro 504K - bomber/trainer/civilian aircraft that can be modified to 504N, replacing the very old Airfix kit and the AModel knock-off. Junkers Ju 52/3m, old kit that deserve to be replaced, Airfix had access to a very nice original when they measured up the He 111. North American T-6 / Harvard, easy access to original aircraft, multiple boxings possible following up on their trainer series. Westland Lysander agent taxi / target tug. Curtiss P-36 / P-47 Thunderbolt / F-4U Corsair are US aircraft used by RAF / FAA and in need of good kits. Hawker Sea Fury - so they can make a Dogfight double with the MiG 15. Boeing B-29 Washington to go between the Lancaster and the V-bombers, can even make it in Australian markings. Modern military aircraft have been overlooked by Airfix; AW 101, Wildcat Lynx and F-35 are or about to become operational. Airfix might be able to get closer to the originals than many others. What I am certain about is that Airfix will surprise us again - as they did with the very nice Whitley. And I hope to see more versions of the Sea King without paint and glue, maybe a Royal boxing with Sea King(William/Andrew) and Apache(Harry). The next surprise could be Sikorsky S-92 since they have taken over the rescue work and most of the North Sea transport tasks.

1/72 - Westland Sea King HAR.3 by Airfix - released
LN-KEH replied to Homebee's topic in The Rumourmonger
The Norwegian SeaKings have gained quite a few antenna and other items over the years, so it is probably easier to build an early version than as they are flying today. At least three former RAF SeaKings have been procured for use as sources of spare parts to keep the Norwegian ones flying until the AW101s are operational, so they must be quite similar. Knut Erik
