The sprues : Fairly hard plastic with no trace of flash. Nice detail on the parts. The first few parts assembled. 6 parts went into the seat!

It's not bad, but it is huge, and brush painting is a right pain. You get a lot of plastic in the box. I think with a bit of effort it should be possible to make a really nice model. The main problem I've had is that some of the mounting points for later parts fit imprecisely and you only find out they're not quite aligned much later in the build. It doesn't help that I'm so slow. I also have the Krupp, which looks like a very similar kit, so hopefully I can plan ahead a bit better on that one and learn from my mistakes.

Had this on the wants list I gave to SWMBO before Christmas and she duly obliged. I decided after struggling for 6 months on the Revell Büssing 8000 (which is still not much more than a chassis and lots of half-painted body sections) I need to start something I can finish in a few weeks. It looks like a lovely kit and seems to be straightforward based on the instructions. The first few parts have gone together like a treat - the precision fit is a dream after the old Revell kit. Bear with me as I'm not the greatest modeller and will be brush painting it, but thought I'd post a WIP as it's a new kit and could be of interest to others who can then show me up later Photos to follow. Looks like a fold-up shovel to me.

You're still not in gear. It's now 2017.

Beautiful build. I suspect this wasn't really the first one you finished in 2016 though

It's stated in the German in the link. "eine Konversion der Spitfire Mk II"

Well I have the Jägermeister van in the stash so would be up for an STGB.

Im Maßstab 1:32 gab es in den 1970er Jahren mehrfach Versuche, Auto-Bausätze zu etablieren (u.a. von Heller und vor allem Airfix). Aus dieser Zeit stammen auch die Formen des „Buggy„. This translates as : In the 1970s there were multiple attempts to establish car kits in 1:32 scale (amongst others from Heller and in particular from Airfix). The moulds for the Buggy date from this era.

For car and vehicle modellers there's the DB5 to look forward to - especially if it ends up as the 007 version. The Porsche tractor will also go nicely with the Heller Ferguson. Provides a nice counterweight to Airfix's focus on planes.

Those DSs look great. Wish I'd had that photo of the Lotus engine bay when I was working on the Tamiya one earlier this year for the Made in GB GB. It's a much clearer picture than any I found. Wish mine had been a 1:1 scale one too!

I used to have one of the Airfix modelling guide books with a load of these vehicle conversions in when I was a kid. You may still be able to pick up a second-hand copy somewhere. -
Love the wide variety of subjects.

A great display of different (and difficult) camouflage schemes. I'd be happy if I could get one finish anywhere near to that standard. Schöne Grüße aus Kärnten.

There are quite a few of them still on the road in Croatia.

I spent ages looking for it, convinced it had to be there somewhere. In the end I just cut a small bit of sprue off and stuck it on - I doubt anyone will notice, especially as my models hardly ever get looked at. I guess if they're supplying replacement parts there are a fit kits missing both of them now!

The 1:32 beach buggy is an interesting one - the old Airfix kit is virtually unobtainable.

I like the effect you've achieved on the underside of the bonnet.

It's not just the coloured stripe decals that have that problem. The white letters and numbers are also semi-transparent and the blue shows through.

I second Vince's comment.

By some strange coincidence I spotted a mark 1 Transit minibus today.

This is really nice. -
The BMW mini is designed for the German market, where I believe it's been a success. Nostalgia, Britishness, coupled with German engineering and quality is the idea.

I don't think it means they're being pulled from the market, just going to be made in China.
