  1. I'd be happy with any from - 1/72nd US Navy F4B, Battle, Mig 21, Jaguar, Corsair I or II, Mirage III, Me 109F or G, B-26, Dinah and Anson. In 1/48 - Phantom FG 1, F4F Wildcat, Spitfire IXc, Sea Harrier and the Henschel 126, Skyray and Super Mystere in the Vintage Classics range.
  2. My take is any of the following in 1/72nd scale: Mig 21 Battle F4B US Navy Vietnam FW 190D Ki 46 Dinah Dv Albatross Bristol Fighter Hampden In 1/48 Me109G Spitfire IXc F-86 reissue USAF Korean War decals Hurricane MK II
  3. For all the chaps asking about, or moaning about why yet another Mustang in 1/48th scale. The answer is easy if you take it logically (Thank you Paul Simon) Tamiya, Hasewaga, Meng Mustangs DON'T make money for Hornby. I hope it sells like hot cakes. I hope it makes millions for Hornby because that will mean Airfix will be able to produce more subjects like Defiants, Valiants, Whitleys, Marlets, Vampires and Tiger Moths. For every Spitfire, Me109 sold by Airfix a little tick goes up on future plans. May they long continue as they are doing now. I'm sorry if this sounds patronising. I don't mean to be.
  4. New tools of golden oldies (any of the following): Me 262, Douglas Devastator, Sopwith Camel, Fokker Dr1, Mig 21, F-4 Phantom, Ju-88A all in 1/72nd scale I also expect a Spitfire/Seafire and metal wing Hurricane in 1/72nd. Whitley, Blenheim, Gladiator/Sea Gladiator and F86F in 1/48th New tool Spitfire I/Ia/II and Me 109E4 in 1/24th
  5. I'd like them to retool all their 1/72nd WWI kits. From WWII in 1/72nd Ju 88 (BOB), Fairey Battle, Wellington, FW 190D, Me 262, Boomerang and all the US Navy carrier planes; Devastator, Dauntless, Hellcat, Helldiver and Avenger. I'd also like new tools of the Lockheed Shooting Star, Mig 21, F4B, Buccaneer, Mirage III if possible.
  6. Just found this thread and have thoroughly enjoyed reading through it. With your kind permission I'd like to blame it for distracting my attention away from my modelling table in the study and my complete failure to get anything done tonight. Don't feel too bad, even listening to Mozart's last three great symphonies couldn't rekindle my now dormant modelling zest. It could be down to fact that I start work tomorrow afternoon after a 20 day holiday and have a visit to the dentist in the morning. Excellent work on the Valiant.
  7. The Victor was straight out of Dan Dare territory - so far ahead of it's time.
  8. Big one is the Victor. There is a Martlet in 1/72 and a Stuka in 1/48. Well done Airfix!
  9. My line of thinking is a Phantom but it could be a Corsair II or even a Buccaneer A new Hampden would be nice seeing as everytime I splash out on loads of aftermarket goodies for their old kits - hello Heinkel III - along come Airfix with a new mould.
  10. I have one in the stash too with the Eduard Interior set 73388 and the mask CX277 - hope it comes out half as well as yours! I'll be doing the Xtradecal 72118 Me 110C from ZG 76. I also have the Airfix Me 110E and an Eduard 1/48 which I'll will put off until my modelling skills have improved.
  11. Get Adam to pull off one of his brilliant box top covers and it would sell by the bucketloads.
  12. If an Airfix Ju88 sells well, it means that they will be able to reinvest any profits, after the initial outlay has been covered and shareholders kept happy, into producing other kits, such as the Swift or Vampire. Kits that would otherwise never have been produced by Airfix without adequate cash flows. As you have stated, at first glance it doesn't add much to us modellers, but for Airfix having a Ju88 on the shelves is more than just a statement of intent. They wouldn't have been able to produce the Whitley if they hadn't have had kits like the Spitfie MK I/II and Me 109 E4 being bought in droves.
  13. I would settle for a F4B Phantom in braille scale to start a long line of Airfix Phantoms off. I also think a new Me 109F or G in the same scale would sell bucketloads, as would a Me 262, but if I were a betting man I'd put my money on a new 1/72nd Ju88. Revell's is a magnificent model but it doesn't make a penny for Humbrol. It would also complete their line up of early WWII Luftwaffe medium bombers.
  14. I think it's a little more simpler than most think and that Airfix are playing a game of laying false trails. Just take a look at the history of Airfix and see which models they started off with in the first few years - sooner or later we will have new moulds of all those. Which models were in the range for the longest period of time? The Spitfire Mk I, Tomahawk, the Zero, the Gladiator etc., have now been done. So I expect to see new mould Comet Racer, Albatross DV, F4U Corsair, Junkers Ju 88, FW 190D, AW Seahawk, Lysander, Aircobra, Val, Me 109G, Walrus, Battle, FW 189 amongst others. Which kits do modellers continually plead for? The BP Defiant was certainly one, a decent Beaufighter and Meteor too. Airfix have also said that they eventually want all the Spitfires marques done. Add to that a range of British subjects through the ages and aircraft that can be sold in different variants or boxings, Phantom, Mirage III, Mig 21 and throw in a couple of surprises every year, for example the Whitley and Shackleton and you have a guide to follow.
  15. Humbrol 230 - brush painted - 3 very diluted coats
  16. Thank you very much - hopefully if I keep practising I'll get better with the brush
  17. Second finished model after a 20 year hiatus and various stalled projects.
