  1. "Saturday Special - finish in a weekend with no modifications, no improvements." my a###e Backslider.
  2. Hi Adrian, you won't be surprised that I'm not surprised that the out of boxedness of the build didn't last long, I look forward to seeing just how deep this 'Saturday' build drags you in whilst all the while you are aware that lurking in the background is a state of the art Airfix job.
  3. Ikea has a good selection of units suitable for the display of models. Nice job on the den.
  4. It's not just limited to here, Tried to log into HLJ about an hour ago and got the 503 and have also had the same message several times this week on other sites.
  5. Hello alloydog, thank you for posting the Comet photo's. I really like Finnish armour and have spent years looking for info on Finnish half tracks and 88's since seeing a few photo's in a very old Finnish IPMS magazine. Do you have any info on either or both of these or could you tell me where I might get such info? cheers, dave
  6. Orsum, I know what you started with which just confirms my initial diagnosis. Due to the magnified photos you don't really get a true appreciation of how small this is.
  7. Google Historex Agents, they have a website which has a very extensive selection of figures, not just Napoleonic. If you contact them they should be able to help you.
  8. Don't worry about being rude, I never took it as that and I'm a bit more robust than some of our colleagues, I enjoy our exchanges and your builds, I hope you will continue to enjoy my interjections.
  9. Don't forget Adrian we are talking 1964-5 and at that time it wasn't oustandingly bad and still streets better than the stuff coming the other way. I'd love to have a look at some of these older kits like the Heinkel and Dornier, just look, not build. In the meantime I'll just wait for you to WIP them in the near future?
  10. Mostly Airfix, can't remember now although an HE-111was definitely one of them.
  11. When i was about 14-15, (1966-67), I had a pen friend in Prostejov with whom I used to trade kits and this was one of them, needless to say I did all the same mods. as you. I also had the Mil 2 which was to the same standard, an An-2 (which had a really weird prop) and a few airliners. My god were they rough! Don't know what kind of plastic they used but it was dead hard, both the white and the silver.
  12. Brilliant work, brilliant posts, many thanks, cheers, dave
  13. Greetings Carlos, welcome, I'm very pleased to welcome you as your interests are very like mine, post war airforces and aircraft of South America, South East Asia and Africa.
  14. Once again a really good, interesting post. Sven, you are the man.
  15. Makes a lot more sense than painting an 'anti glare panel' GLOSS black.
