  1. excellent fit if making it open like I did. Not sure about the fit of the panels if closed down.
  2. Thank you, guys! We'll see. Looking forward to GWH kit as well. If there's a single fault with Finemolds kit, it's probably trying to build it with closed panels - I have a feeling the fit isn't as stellar as the rest of the model. On the other hand, GWH will have deployed flaps, slats and spoilers and I wonder, how those will fit in the closed position... Time will tell, but I have great hopes for it. Thank you, Julien. I do apologize for this slip, by not removing the link. As this is my only "guilt" as I do not sell my models or use my site for any kind of profit gaining. Will try to be more careful next time and just make a small banner according to forum rules instead.
  3. A break from aircraft models - Flyhawks excellent 1:700 HMS Aurora built on friend's suggestion, as my daughter's name is Aurora as well. Since this was my second ship ever, I was stunned by this kit and would recommend it to anyone looking into foray into shipbuilding. Perfect fit through out the build and PE fret that covers most of the tiny details but I also added Flyhawk's wooden deck and brass gun barrels and Northstar models sailors.
  4. Thank you guys! Unfortunately it does - the open display at Paris museum doesn't do it much justice.
  5. Thank you guys! The red chevrons are painted, the blue ones are decals. Well, they are short-run technology, so some additional work is required. The only real problem I had was when I wanted to close the canopy, it wouldn't fit - in the end I had to cut the whole avionics bay out of the model and shorten the behind the seat ledge... everything else was quite standard - a smear of putty here and there, nothing drastic. Yeah it looks to me like a cross between 2000 and Rafale with a Mirage IV tail. Wow, I'm a bit envious for that. I remember a VHS tapes my dad bought me in the late '80s and there was some airshow footage on there, including the Mirage 4000 performance. So this was in a way a childhood memory build.
  6. Hi everyone! I've finally finished Modelsvit's 1:72 Mirage 4000.
  7. Here she is finished! The brand new Eduard 1:72 MiG-21MF 'Fishbed-J' kit.
  8. Thank you! KittyHawk will release it, probably sometime this year, in 1:48 scale. Thanks Terry. Regarding the MDC line. It was the first time for me painting it. Actually I almost ruined the canopy on my first try and had to polish it and dip in Future to regain clarity. In the end, I used photoetched piece from ModelDesign PE fret, which dissapointed me on the oversized parts for the cockpit, but worked here... It was still a chore to get it bent, though.
  9. Thank you, guys! Glad you like her!
  10. Hi everyone! Here's my first finished build of 2018. Yeah, I'd normally have 3 or 4 finished by now, but life got in a way a bit You can find the full article and photogallery at my modelling blog.
  11. Hehe Ken, was it Santa or Ded Moroz? Got the kit today as well - will start on her right after I finish Yak-130
  12. Yes unfortunately he's more or less the only choice on Soviet/Russian aviation subjects in English language. I am not aware of any other Fitter books, though there might be some in Russian language.
  13. Thanks, guys! Glad you like her! Martin, Mr.Gordon made quite a few mistakes in this book, including with the short paragraph on the Azeri Fitter. Colours are way off in that pic as well.
  14. Thank you, guys! You can see the step-by-step photos, including the 23-piece ejection seat here: https://vvsmodelling.com/2017/12/06/modelsvit-172-su-17m3-fitter-h-build-article/ It's in the Azerbaijani Air Force markings - rather obscure scheme with only 4 airframes painted like that and put on reserve soon after that. You can see one here: https://vvsmodelling.com/2017/12/07/sukhoi-su-17m3-fitter-h/ Problem is though, that there are just a few photos available and colours vary quite a bit between them, especially the tan.
  15. sorry, forgot to write it down - 1:72
  16. Modelsvit 1:72 with Linden Hill decals. Although a 'short-run' model, one of the better models I have ever built - its details surpass those of 1:48 offerings, yet it builds really nice due to clever design.
  17. All the Bs are equipped with IFRs and BS are without. As I can see from the instructions, Begemot failed to identify the version for each option. If you are interested in any particular airframe from the sheet, let me know and I'll try to find you reference photo.
  18. Cockpit more or less finished Click on the photo for more:
