  1. Only your second ship? Hat off to you Sir, I aim to be at your level way into the afterlife. Top job
  2. That's just mint. Pure and simple!!! A year well spent.
  3. Not much of a shape change but I've started on the camo scheme and got a few of the smaller parts together. Nothing on the deck is glued down yet apart fron the lower part of the front superstructure, but just so I get a bit of self satisfaction I've loosely fitted the parts to create a little shape change. The torpedo turrets are a little speckly but I found a good coat of matt varnish rectifies this as it did with the funnel. There's not an awful lot left on the sprues now, so the assembly part is nearly done, just the painting left to polish up. That said some of the photos are a liitle vibrant for some reason, the "blue" is more a grey and I don't know how the camera has picked up green in places.
  4. Truly magnificent!!! I'm stuck for words. I'm sure you have a greAt deal of pride about that build. I say again, "Magnificent!".
  5. Just a wee update. Not got much done over the last few weeks due to my house move, but now I'm settled and all set up again I've managed to get a little more done over this weekend. So here's where she is... Still plenty to do mind.
  6. That's a very nice build. How long did you spend on it?
  7. Got to work on the Guns and rear superstructure yesterday. Although a basic kit I was disappointed with the hollow backs to the 6" guns. I took the time to fill these in, along with various other sink marks / punch holes. Also managed to finish and paint the rear superstructure together with guns and catapult. I'll add the mast and plane at the end. Because the railings are a little thick, I had to remove the ones to the side of the small AA guns so they could fit in, and likewise the front gun needed to be offest to the rear slightly.
  8. Thanks Bangor Lad, but don''t hold your breath, it's not gonna look like all the other builds posted in here. I'm hoping for a reasonable representation of the ship when it's all done and dusted. Nothing spectacular.
  9. No mate, just the Mk1 Eyeball for this build
  10. Yeah I forget Illustrious is still going, but without any planes running off her bow it's easy to fail to remember she exists. Senseless waste.
  11. Beuatiful build. Why we never kept those ships is beyond me.
  12. I haven't seen many ships in this scale posted on here and I've had this sat in my stash for yonks. Most of my models and tools are packed away as I'm moving home, so I thought I'd give my Graf Spee a go in between packing. A wonderful piece of German engineering in that they managed to pack a great deal of punch into a relatively small ship. Shame it was sunk by a game of pure bluff. I wasn't going to post my WIP but the further I got I thought I may as well. I'm building it 100% OOB, and despite the railings being well over scale I've decided to include these too as they add a little more character to the ship...well I think so anyway. So here you are, this is where I'm at.
  13. My Vulcan went from the shelf of doom to the bin of death just before the decals (XH558) were due to be applied. They in a nice envelope should you wish to have them. Only the instrument panel was used.
  14. Wow, that IS a terrible running gear. Good luck with the build, there's not enough 1/76 scale.
  15. Well I'm going to call this done. An experiement all in all but at the same time a little bit of fun. I've certainly learnt a thing or two, and the intention of giving the tank a base has evolved into far more than I ever imagined, the irony being that my imagination is what made it. And a few black and white.
  16. I think the phrase rhymes with "Plucking Bell". The 25 year break has clearly done you no harm. great plane and a lovely base to boot.
  17. Good builds. Can't say I notice any discrepancies with the tyres. I have the Afghan range for my next project, first stop being a land rover. Airfield seem to have done this range real justice.
  18. Great build. Nothing wrong with dabbling in a different modelling area.
