  1. 19th to 29th January to produce a terrific build like this that has gone together so well! Looking forward to the next one.
  2. Thanks @Bullbasket Still a work in progress but, one day, they might look like how I envisaged them before I started. 🙂
  3. Initial painting on the sand bags and shelf. (I REALLY didn't like the bright yellow.") And in a bit more close-up. Needs more attention to shadows round the bags - and maybe some putty to tidy them but the wood and metalwork supporting them looks better painted. (And I REALLY must finish those two half-tracks.)
  4. That's one very beat up T34. Nice work.
  5. I had a gander at my IBG 1/72 Scammel Pioneer tank transporter tractor. The main chassis members are 82.5mm long as opposed to the 78mm of the R100. I measured the R100 rear floor pan for the width but the sides of the body are attached to the sides of the floor pan so the vehicle width could be 1-2mm wider. My comparison of the R100 and the Airfix tank transporter was not really all that helpful as the vehicles differ. I still reckon that the finished results for IBG and Airfix will look similar size-wise.
  6. But you can take great satisfaction knowing all this great detail is there.
  7. Fabulous, detailed work. Looks superb.
  8. Thanks @Keeff Jury is still out on re-working the injection pipes to restore their original shape in finer wire. E
  9. Looks like there might be a scale issue here. Left hand kit is 1/72 IBG Scammell R100. Right hand kit is the Airfix Scammell Tank Transporter tractor, both Scammell Pioneers, 1:1 Scammell Pioneers are 6.27m long, 2.59m wide and 2.97m high. That gives 87mm at 1/72 and 83mm at 1/76 long: 36mm wide at 1/72 and 34mm wide at 1/76 and 41mm high at 1/72 and 39mm high at 1/76. The IBG Pioneer 1/72 chassis is 78mm long and the Airfix 1/76 chassis is 82mm long. The 1/72 IBG body is 32mm wide as is the Airfix at 1/76. I suspect that, if ever I get both kits finished, they'll both look like 1/72. Although the IBG will be somewhat better detailed as it has finer mouldings and lots more parts.
  10. @dogsbody Thanks for your comment. Perhaps "fuel injection" was the wrong terminology. Scammell engines were 510 cu in (8.4 L) Gardner 6-cylinder Diesels - I just looked it up.
  11. Just discovered that the fuel injection pipes fouled the firewall at the front of the cab. 😖 But now they don't, although they got a bit marmelised in the recovery process. Had to flatten them against the engine with tweezers. I'll need to check that the cab floor sits on the chassis over the top of the fuel pump too but that's enough excitement for one afternoon! Now debating whether to take them out and redo them more tidily.
  12. Decided I could not live with the oversized lifting bracket. It was just too oversized. So I took it off and made a smaller oversized lifting bracket. The moldings on the turret are 1.5mm x 2mm with 0.7mm perforation. What I now have is about the smallest I can handle with minimal risk of the carpet monster nicking it. Methinks it looks a tad better - and some paint should improve on that - hopefully.
  13. This looks great, Ed. Looks like the outside is going to do justice to that terrific inside.
  14. @Old pro Thanks again for your suggestion. They look good on the website. With postage they'll cost almost as much as I paid for the kit. Also, not sure if the kit running gear would be removeable to make way for a new set without catastrophic damage to the lower hull. Having got it this far I think I might try to beat it into the final shape with what is in the box.
  15. Having a similar issue with the Shot Kal - parts and numbering in the destructions differ from the parts and numbering on the sprues.😕
  16. Some more great builds happening here. Almost a shame to cover those neat tracks with mud and foliage. So Stugs had to keep their guns slightly elevated to shoot horizontally? If Stug IVs had the same issue its going to be tricky with my Dragon Stug IV - the suspension is solid and already all cemented in place.
  17. Very impressive builds @PeteH1969. Which kits are they? Thanks @sardaukar I didn't find these so thanks for the link. I'll have to think some thoughts in this direction. Thanks @Old pro another interesting possibility to investigate.
  18. Following on from my previous post, do Shot Kal Centurions use standard Centurion tracks? The rubber items supplied are not the best I've ever seen and I've found a site advertising workable indy links that can be downloaded in a file for 3D printing - but they're for centurion tracks not specific to Shot Kals. The site is here. The links look good on the screen. Advice/comments welcome
  19. Sounds like content for a weeks' worth of nightmares!
  20. Excellent work, so realistic - makes me feel cold just looking at it.
