  1. Every time I see the title of this kit I think its got a 20mm M61 in the turret. Great build so far btw. Like the PE construction especially.
  2. Watching this come together looked promising. Seeing the finished result has realised all that the build promised. Magnificent job!
  3. Terrific detail - as usual. Good to see this coming together.
  4. Terrific build. The weathering is really good, especially the "spattered" grime. Altogether an excellent piece of modelling.
  5. I think you cracked it though. Great work.
  6. @Andy H Weren't these the SOE trained D Day cows. They wandered round enemy foxholes giving the occupants a pat on the head.
  7. It might take some collecting if it had been distributed by some falling H.E.?
  8. Constant setbacks decimate my mojo. Tiger outer wheels disappeared. Dropped the Merkava and the down length of track disappeared with the first roadwheel. Scammell Pioneer stalled because I can't make up what's left of my mind as to how much more engine detail to add, if any. Everything is stalled at present.
  9. Perhaps they're bluetooth? Great cam painting btw.
  10. Spectacular! The muddy bridge looks well with the Hetzer. The cam jacket looks really inspiring - a bit too detailed to replicate in 1/72, sadly.
  11. @Jasper dog Lets hope the build quality improves along with it.
  12. @Ned Basecoat went on in 2022 and the green cam in May 2023 - I'm not a very quick builder. It has not taken 10 years to complete the paintwork, at least, not yet.
  13. Having the memory of a goldfish is a real disadvantage. I find all sorts of terrific work and techniques on Britmodeller, think "that looks really good" and promptly forget how to do it all. Here's a reminder of what I was thinking about but not really remembering. It's a Pz. III build but there the similarity ends............................ @PlaStix Pz.III build here. Didn't quite make it with mine so far.
  14. @Milan Mynar @Stef N. @Ned @Jasper dog Thanks for the encouragement. Must confess to having been very disappointed with the results of yesterdays' efforts on the III. I did not gloss varnish prior to the pin washing attempt. @PlaStix seems to achieve marvellous results without it- I must revisit one of his builds and remind myself how the experts work. Thank you for the tips. I'm afraid my T90 got the same treatment as the Pz. III yesterday so remedial action needed there too. What colour oil is best for pin wash? I'll try a little oil dotting to tone down the "pin washes". My Tiger Is and II are also in need of pin washing but I need to get the hang of it before I marmelise anything else.
  15. Had another go at a pinwash - dark green......................... Before and After Not very happy. This is very thinned Humbrol enamel on Humbrol Acryllic and, again, it has not gone to plan. It looked like it was flowing where I wanted it but then it just bled all over the show. Still - one day, perhaps. Lots of mud and grime on the way methinks - after all, this is a Pz III that operated at Kursk where the scenery got considerably churned up.
  16. A little more paint. Just painted around where the engine lives so I can get the overall paintwork done on the rest in one hit - or, at least, that's the plan at present......
  17. Terrific rendition of a Pz. III. Makes me feel cold just looking at it. The winter cam, chipping and muddy weathering looks just right.
  18. Thanks @Old pro I bought some Vallejo Sinai Grey 71.142 at the same time as the IDF Green. Might use the grey on the Merkava and the Green on the Shot Kal - depending on what it looks like.
  19. Started painting the Merkava. Only the wheels, lower hull and gun barrel so far. The destructions specify a mix of 25% Dark Green and 75% Beige. I'm useless at accurate paint mixing and, historically, re-mixing when I run out or to touch in additional items has been a disaster. The destructions for the Shot Kal specify Vallejo 71.126 IDF/IAF Green overall. It looks a bit weird to me but destructions are destructions and the Revell prescribed mix sounds like it might come out as light green - I have not tried it - so, calling the experts, would IDF Green as above be correct for both the Shot Kal and the Merkava III?
  20. That figure is awesome - it goes well with the quality of the Tiger.
