@Redcoat2966 Did you ever get this one finished?

Well I've run out of superlatives so what can I say!?
@NIK122 Perhaps we need to start scratch building some new ones?

The Vespid Comet has a 1:72 birdcage turret top gunsight to fold and fit. I have taken it off the sprue but keep putting off attempting do anything further with it.
@SimonL The Centurion is looking excellent!

Magnificent detailing. Looking really good.

Very interesting start. Looking forward to how this progresses

VERY well built.

I agree about Vespid kit quality. You have certainly done this one justice. The cam looks spectacular - especially as 1/72 is so small.

@SimonL If this kit is as well detailed as the vespid Comet you have made a good choice. Looking forward to watching this go together.

Great looking build. Weathering looks just right IMHO.

Great work. The gun crew compartment looks a bit insecure and uncomfortable, though.

I cut the birdcage sight from the PE sprue.
On its own it looks even smaller.
Added some more parts. I found that, sanded slightly, the hull MG went in from the outside. The smoke bomb launcher tubes are three separate items that have to be individually tweezered into place.
I found the lost PE fender support stuck to the front of my fleece after a couple of days of intermittently interrogating the carpet monster so I cleaned off the fluff, straightened it out and re-fitted it.
The headlight brush-guards proved an issue. The first one pinged into oblivion as I tried to clean it up. The second snapped. The sprue attachment points are quite heavy.
Plan B. I made, not very successfully, some wire replacements. Not happy so I suspect these will need to be re-done.
Thanks for looking in, comments and advice welcome.

I don't think that Italeri ever envisaged this kit turning out like this. Brilliant work Andrew.
If Italeri put this much fabulous detail in you'd need a mortgage to buy one!

Impressive build. Looks bigger than 1/72. I like the painting and weathering. 👍

Thanks @Bullbasket. In addition to the PE issue I have just realised I stuck the hull without adding the hull Besa!
Problems, problems!
Think I'll try tying some thread to the gun and pulling it through......
And the PE - somewhat small.......

A few more parts and some PE fitted.
The smoke grenade launchers, hatch covers, gun travel bracket, front shackle brackets and cooling vent covers are now in place. Also the PE tow cable supports on the front deck, the periscope covers and two weird little plates that go across the tops of the rear fender supports ( although one fell off twice, got rescued from the carpet monster and then escaped and disappeared so I'll have to cut a replacement.) The PE was fiddley so far but I have yet to fold and fit the PE birdcage gunsight and the antenna frame - which I'm not really looking forward to.
Comments and advice welcome as usual and thanks for looking in.

Great work throughout this build so far. The gun is a much better representation than the strelets garbage I bought a while back. Very helpful pics of the engine. I'm currently attempting a 1/72 version.
Is there any indication in the destructions as to where the throttle linkage runs over to the RHS of the engine and on to the pedal?

Oh yes! Cracked it! Worth waiting for.

A really quality build. Top to bottom, front to back just right in every aspect. The first version looked great but you've managed to enhance it. 👍 👍 👍

except there are quite a few photos of Cromwells featuring just such a rear-facing star (of the non-ringed variety), including during Operation Goodwood, and specifically those of 2nd Welsh Guards in Eindhoven and other places during Market Garden.
That's a relief. Both my Cromwells have stars on the back of the turret.......................

Looking better and better every time I look in IMHO.
