Crusader Mk.l. 1/35th scale. Italeri.
echen replied to Bullbasket's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
I like the strategy of painting the lower hull early on. I find it allows for weathering without too much in the way. -
@Bullbasket There's positive waves - I can't lose! I was thinking about CA to fasten it together as well as to attach it to the turret. My experience of soldering as suggested by @sardaukar is almost NIL.😔

@Old pro How about extending the canvas with some foil or greenstuff if the width issue can be resolved? I used foil faired in with filler to add rear and front canvas to my 1/72 QLD cover. Perhaps it might work for the T90?

Maybe the challenge to get it done despite how you feel about painting is impacting your performance. IMHO your painting skill matches your construction/scratch building ability. Certainly in evidence here.

"Make it or break it" Hetzer at the Rurfront 1944
echen replied to THEscaleSHOW's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Fabulous build! -
Definitely! The Hetzer looks terrific. The complex cam on the uniforms and vehicle, weathering, diorama (That water under the bridge and the puddles!) is another piece of work for which superlatives are all applicable. Lately I have "run out of steam" a bit. Seeing something like this is very inspirational - not that I can yet produce anything similar....................

Dragon 1/72 Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E Tiger 1 Initial Production
echen replied to PlaStix's topic in Ready for Inspection - Armour
Another great piece of modelling. I really like the weathering. The muddy road wheels and tracks look very realistic. -
@Old pro Looks like a great kit. It'll be good to see it beginning to go together with your customary expertise. I must confess I'd have remained blissfully ignorant of the kits' inaccuracies if they'd not been mentioned above. One of the benefits of Britmodeller is access to all the technical knowledge of fellow modellers here.

@Model Mate @Bullbasket Or Mr. Blobby Cam? (Except its not pink and yellow) -
@Redcoat2966 Did you ever get this one finished?
-
@NIK122 Perhaps we need to start scratch building some new ones?

Australian Centurion Mk 5/1 (Vespid 1/72 scale)
echen replied to SimonL's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
The Vespid Comet has a 1:72 birdcage turret top gunsight to fold and fit. I have taken it off the sprue but keep putting off attempting do anything further with it. @SimonL The Centurion is looking excellent! -
Magnificent detailing. Looking really good.

VERY well built.

I agree about Vespid kit quality. You have certainly done this one justice. The cam looks spectacular - especially as 1/72 is so small.

Great work

echen replied to SimonL's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
@SimonL If this kit is as well detailed as the vespid Comet you have made a good choice. Looking forward to watching this go together. -
Great looking build. Weathering looks just right IMHO.
