  1. Your 33 is looking good. Thanks for so clearly describing the issues you had, I have made a note for when I commence mine! Malc.
  2. Wow, just found this, you are producing some really great looking models, with a super finish. I like the respoked wheels, they are a big improvement. Good luck with your auction! Malc.
  3. Well this is a turn up, a mate has just sent me these, chassis 003 taken at 2021 Goodwood:- As usual click on the pic a couple of times to view the full size image. Malc.
  4. The other person to ask would be John Dimmer, who now has chassis 004 (looks like I was wong above!) and is pictured in some detail here:- http://www.britishracecar.com/JohnDimmer-Tyrrell-004.htm Malc.
  5. Yes, not very clear! Why don't you try to contact John Delane? I believe he owns a couple of '003's' I maybe wrong but I thought he owned 001, 002 and 004 and one of the 006 chassis and the Tyrrell transporter which are run by Hall and Hall? M.
  6. Hi Jonny, Thats amazing, your going to have to work on the cam timing though! Yes, I realise that chassis 001 is different because the roll bar support goes back to the engine, not forward to the chassis, the main difference is that the rear bulkhead is at a steeper angle for chassis 002 and 003, I should have mentioned this in my post - sorry. However these are the best I have, the cutaway is correct for chassis 002 and 003 though. How did you get the dimentions to work from to draw the DFV components? Do you have access to a full size engine? Malc.
  7. Hi Jonny, Good luck with your project, look forward to seeing it. I upload pics to imgbb (free) and post the links, its easy and works well for me. Click on each picture a couple of times to get to full size. You are right, pics with the seat removed are hard to find. Here is the best what I have found over the years of searching t'internet. Malc.
  8. Decalcas are producing some good stuff for F1, shame I can't find a UK supplier though. Did you use Spotmodel? Malc.
  9. Hi Matt, Thanks for posting about your Dad and LDM, I too built a Knight Twister when they were first available. I think I still have it somewhere in the loft. I remember seeing the advert in the back of Scale Models magazine and must have got it direct from your Dad, then being surprised at how heavy and how tiny the box it came in was! I think this was the first white metal kit I made. I would be interested in hearing any more recollections you have of your Father and his model business. Do you have a list of all the models he sold? I see on our favourite auction site there is a sale listing for pair of LDM 1/48 Tiger Moths. Malc.
  10. Well I would be interested! Always nice to hear what paints and decals have been used etc. I have to admit that this corner of Britmodeller is not as popular as anything with a camo overcoat, but there is a small but nice core of interest here for cars. As to pics, I guess it depends what you have taken them with and how you have uploaded them to flickr? For my pics I use a digi camera, upload them to my pc, reduce them to a digestable size, upload them to imgbb and post the links in the thread. Bit of a fiddle, but usually accomplished while my better 3/4 is watching TV! Malc.
  11. Looks great! I also like your Porsche 962C on your YouTube channel, fantastic finish! Malc.
  12. Hi John, The MP4/6 looks great, it would be good to see more (and bigger!) pics. How about posting them in a new thread in RFI? M.
  13. Still taking it to Telford? Looking forward to seeing it f'real! Looks superb. M.
  14. Hi Wayne, Great link, thanks! I just watched them all and it lets those who have the TS sets know what they are in for....... Shame the subs are not also in English. He is certainly cracking on! Sorry for the thread diversion - but there is another Japanese guy on YT who made the Tamiya MP4/5b, he largely scratch built everything, and its a great primer to making/adding your own detail, the episode on brakes is fascinating. Also cutting up a biscuit tin lid to make the layers for the ECU........ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1aa1YXA3cc Malc.
  15. Nice! Not enough civil A/C on the forum IMHO, so great to see, esp scratch built. M.
  16. Wow, only just found this. What a fantastic scratch build of an aircraft I have never even heard of before. Thanks! M.
  17. That would be great to see how you tackle the damper cover issues. You would be a pioneer, as I have not seen this corrected on any other build! I agree that the underside of the bull horns does not have enough anhedral, also the split line at the rear of the fairing should not have a step as the Tamiya kit does. Im my head - I had thought that a new vac formed top cover and vac formed lower halves would solve the issue? Malc.
  18. Can't ever have enough FW14 builds! Looking forward to progress. Are you planning any mods to the kit other than the TS set? Malc.
  19. Well done for persevering! I feel your pain, I had some carbon decaling fail last week as the decal just shattered when I tried to wrap it round the wing leading edge, it was totally impervious to decal softener. My TS sets arrived last week....... They look amazing. The grey lines look good, how did you do them? Malc.
  20. Ah yes, the rest of the world calls them 'cam position sensor housing'. Malc.
  21. You mean the ignition coils that are bolted to the outside of the intake plenum? (2 on each side - the black and gold things). They will be driven by the ECU with inputs from the crank sensor, cam sensors, throttle position sensor, knock sensor and manifold pressure. Since the 90s distributors went out of fashion and their function was incorporated in to the ECU. Malc.
  22. Looking good. When you say 'Magneto housings' which part do you mean? Magnetos have not been used on car engines for over 50 years! Malc.
