  1. There was a mixed media Vac and plastic kit from Aeroclub many moons ago but try and find one.  It will be great to have a Mainstream kit to work from.  Now if Italeri will just do an HH-3E...  Ah, the eternal dream.

    Cheers!

  2. I've been lobbying Tamiya for several years to do a 1/48 Dodge WC 54 Meat Wagon.  The molds could easily be modified into a Dodge Weapons Carrier, Command Car, 37mm Anti-Tank Gun Carriage, etc., etc.  To me this one would be a license to print money and would easily join the other 48th WWII kits for Armor and Aircraft Dioramas.  Cheers!

Tried to build this with the RVHP kit. They had some nice schemes. The otherwise very nice vacform canopy was too high, stuck up above the fuselage behind. There was no way to drop the sill or reduce the height of the canopy at the bottom and still maintain accuracy so I tried building up the fuselage depth be hind it. Just couldn’t get rid of the swayback look. Gave up and substituted an Anigrand fuselage. At this point I had one very expensive Sabreliner. Kept the RVHP wings because they had the slats. Only problem there was that the slat tracks on one wing did not align at all with the recesses in the wing. The other wing was fine. Removed the slat tracks and replaced them with plastic strip on the offending wing. There were a lot of them and each had to be perfectly aligned. Life is too short!!!  All worked out in the end but where were you when I needed you SWORD?

will undoubtedly get one for a more stress free build and without needing to take out a second mortgage (already on the wish list at the big H). Wonder if the OBSCURECO resin F-100 wing could be used if slats are lacking. I believe that the Sabreliner wing was based on that of the F-100.

Thanks for doing all that.  You're the reason we're getting a kit.  It never fails.  When someone comes close to killing themselves on a build and finishes it, that's when a company announces a new from the ground up injection molded kit!!!  I've seen this time and time again.  Thanks for all your hard won work on this.  You've made the modeling supreme sacrifice!  Cheers!  FTOSOTP

A really complete series would require 4 different sets of wings (early slatted, 6-3, F-40, Mk.6) and at least 5 fuselages (day fighters, D, K, H, Avon Sabre... assuming that the differences in the A and the Orenda powered variants would be covered by moudling the rear fuselage separately, otherwise it would mean 7 fuselages).

It would be a massive job ! Not that it would be a bad thing though, while 1/48 isn't my preferred scale I may be tempted myself by a few variants...

Only if they start with an accurate "K" model.  I think they'd sell a bunch of those.  Revell AG started to modify their D into a K.  If you've never looked at the inside of the fuselage haves you can see the clear beginnings of work on the molds to do a K but I guess Revell found out what an extensive mod it would be and shelved the idea.  Cheers!

I can’t see it being the Fiat G-91, because it looked all ready to go until the shape issues were raised. And as this talks of new technologies not yet used in plastic modeling, I reckon this is absolutely anything but that. I hope it is the start of the Mirage F-1 family.

    How about a G.91 Series.  I'd go for a 2 seater and a "Y" in 48th!
