Putting it on a base showing the wheel track in grass or dirt will make it look right. Try putting it on a piece of paper and drawing the wheel track and you'll see what I mean.

To clarify: the Eduard kit has open gun covers, but the engine cowl is closed. The wing gun covers are a little fiddly to close but not bad. My main issue with this kit is the slab sided vertical stabilizer with it's blunt/ fat leading edge.

I never new the wind-indicator could look so good!

Wow! I did not expect so many responses to this thread. I just wanted to share what was such a profound experience in my childhood that I have never stopped feeling the wonder and awe of my first memory of model building. In the fifty odd years since then it has led to so many experiences and learning opportunities that I can't fathom what my life would have been like without these experiences/ lessons. I hope others have enjoyed reading these as much as I have.

Reminds me a bit of the Bréguet 1050 Alizé. Not much, but a bit We deserve new 1:48 of both if I'm honest... and greedy
Same here. Although it does look like someone used it as a boomark.

I figured it would have to be something like that. I just couldn't imagine a pilot willing to go into combat without the 20mms.

No 20mm but carrying bombs?

Hopefully these will help.

G'day,
I agree with everything filler has said. The Revell kit is the most accurate for a pre-LASTE mod A-10. Apart form raised panel lines, it has some very average fit in places like the wing to fuselage joint and filling and sanding will likley obliterate the details in this area.
Pappy
I feel it should be mentioned that there is a Revell kit and a Revell/Monogram kit. The Monogram kit is the one to have while the Revell kit, first released as the J.A.W.S A-10, is not. Also I would advise getting a Monogram kit from the '80's as the molding and fit will be better. just my $0.02.......though sink marks in the wing pylons can be an issue in any of the Monogram releases.

It's amazing how stable the F-35 is in a hover. Very nice pictures! Thank you.

I'm gonna need a bigger monitor!

Allright, test taken. Scored a "0" which is perfect. This surprises me since I am partially colorblind in one eye due to a childhood injury. It was a fun test, but I will still avoid color arguments.

I was lucky enough to see an OV-1D do an aerobatic display in 1982 at Ft. Huachuca Az. Best maneuver was a hammerhead stall turn. Really cool! Thanks for sharing the pictures!! They are wonderful!

Very nice! Probably the best looking camouflage worn by the P-47! You honored your father well.

Something from Carl Vincent:
" I fear that I can be of no help with this question, though I would be inclined to doubt that they did. However, simply as a matter of interest, the South African Air Force did use these aircraft in a somewhat more aggressive role than maritime patrol. I attach a photo which I got from a former Can/RAF pilot nearly 40 years ago. From July to November 1944 he was attached to 25 Squadron SAAF and flew 56 daylight bombing raids from Italy against targets in Yugoslavia. The photo shows some of the squadron’s Venturas returning from a raid. An examination of the image shows many interesting aspects of these aircraft. "

Great photo!Looks like one of them is having landing gear issues. Thanks for sharing.
I also notice that the intakes are different than anything I've seen on a Ventura before.

Dang, that is nice.

Your engine fix is perfect! The pilots look really good in the cockpit as well.

Mk.21, or possibly 14.
Edit: Right the first time. LA232- the image (or a VERY similar one) is in Spitfire the History, and also here:

I think you nailed it! Thank you!! I don't know why I didn't ask years ago! I am amazed at how much your mind tricks you into seeing when the focus is so poor. For instance, I was sure the vertical stab had a perfectly straight leading edge, and I thought I saw a tempest radiator scoop under the nose.(which is clearly the clouds in the background). I didn't think I would ever find the photo.

Several years ago while watching Inspector Morse or some other drama show I saw this aircraft picture in the background of a set for a character's office and took a picture. I know it looks like some sort of Spitfire but I can't nail down just what it is. Could anyone help? Now, this is not life and death we are dealing with here, just curiosity. Apologies for the poor resolution but it was the best I could do.....and yes, I drive the Mrs. crazy by stopping shows to get a better view of aircraft that are incidental to the plot............

I would be pleased with that as well! Nicely done!

I think you've done a great job! Looks amazing. Typhoons could looks pretty nasty underneath. I personally always seem to under weather my planes as I'm a chicken.
