Good to know! Although from photos it appears that on the Yak 9 the door is open most of the time on the ground. I still would like to know how it functioned.

Avia S-199 MEZEK - Eduard 1/48 :)
Nachtwulf replied to Jurek Greinert's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Wow! Great Idea!Who knew a Hobbycraft kit could improve.....well anything? That has to be the best looking S-199 I've seen! -
I wonder if they tour just to keep that thing in the air! Can't be cheap! But then again, if I had the money I'd have a surplus A-10 for weekend visit's to family.

1/48 Trumpeter MiG-19S (Shenyang J-6)
Nachtwulf replied to Wee Beastie's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I started the same kit with the same detail bits. Before you start take a look at the leading edge of the wing when assembled. The leading edge is far too rounded and needs some sharpening to look right. Now , with your talent you could probably paint your way around this and it will still look stunning but I thought you might like to know. Good luck, I will be watching with much interest! -
"Granby" Buccaneer S.2 - Airfix 1/48

Sorry, I wasn't very clear, I was referring to the overall width of the fuselage just aft of the wing. -
Revell 1:72 BAe Hawk T1 (Red Arrows)

Nice Build! Did you paint the white stripe or is that a decal? I ask because it looks great and white decals usually do not look that good over red. How about a group photo of all your Hawks? -
De Havilland Comet 1/144 Airfix - Anyone for Africa?
Nachtwulf replied to MikeW's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Just to show how damaging model building can be to my brain.... I only build military kits for some reason and lately I've been drooling over Kinetic's Su-33 in 1/48 with all of it's foldy up bits. The first thing that popped into my glue pickled brain when I saw you rather nice build was....."I wonder why he didn't fold the wings?" I saw the bump in the wing mid span and that's what I thought! -

Wait, did I read that right? You brush painted that?!........that's it, I can't take it anymore......I couldn't get a silver paint job to turn out that nice if I tried! It's too much to take!! Er... uh.... Seriously nice work! -
Wow,nice paint work! Very attractive build!

Nice! I like the silver finish! Together they make a most interesting display. I like them!

Mustang with a latin twist.
Nachtwulf replied to stevej60's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Pretty! I think you are right the Mustang does look good in a modern camo scheme, and a fun build is the best kind in my opinion. Well done! disclaimer: My opinion has been used with permission from the Mrs. -

Nachtwulf replied to Jurek Greinert's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
good looking build! I like the weathering and paint work. What was the bulge in the fuselage for? I know nothing about the Buccaneer. -
I would be thrilled with that if it were on my shelf! Looks great!

Nice photos! I have never seen wing tanks on an avenger before! Of course I haven't been looking very hard either. Do you have any more shots of the Hind? That looks to be an attractive paint scheme on that one.
-
Agreed, nice shots! ! Question, on the 9th photo down on the training missle. Those are strange looking fins! I have never seen that before. Is that a Homegrown version of a sidewinder?
-
Very nice work ! I like the more common folk jobs rather than the flashy paint schemes on jet aircraft. Would it be possible to get a couple of pictures outdoors in more natural light? I would like to see the colors on your splendid paint job better.
