  1. Nice work! I have the same kit with the same aftermarket sets. You want to look at the leading edge of the wing as they seem to rounded to me. ?What do you think? I have started reshaping them by sanding the mating surfaces down and it has helped.
  2. I read somewhere on some now defunct website that they used really large Tamiya-like magnets and flew them really close until they clicked together. .....Acually I have no idea what they used. I was thinking it would have to be an over head crane in a hanger but that only works if the finally result could get out of through the hanger doors.
  3. nicely done! The alteration of the raised fasteners really makes a difference! It gives a much more scale appearance.
  4. That looks very nice! How about some more pictures?
  5. Looks to me like it connects directly to the inter cooler box which feeds the back of the intake manifold. you can just see it poking up behind the valve cover in this pic,
  6. I was under the impression that those were exhaust vents for the turbo inter coolers and oil coolers. But I am frequently wrong, just ask my wife.
  7. Very attractive build! That just goes to show how nice a classic kit can turn out! I especially like the weathering job you've done.
  8. Excellent pictures! Thank you. I was waiting for an ebay auction to wind down so I could snipe it at the last moment until I got distracted by your photos! I missed bidding on the item. Anyway, love the Hog can't resist any pictures of them!
  9. Another stunner Russ!......wait, wat? you hand paint?....all of them? .....one second.....
  10. One of my favorite Monogram kits. Simply wonderful job on the weathering!
  11. Excellent work as usual Ian! I have always liked the look of the Mohawk . I got to see one do aerobatics including a hammer head stall at an airshow in the 80's, very impressive. One question, where are the national insignia?
  12. Forgive my ignorance but, what is that first aircaft? The two pictures of it are just brilliant!
  13. I suppose they will start to write something like this on future bombs...." We are frightfully sorry our bomb did not explode and kill you along with all your buddies. We hope we haven't hurt your feelings."....
  14. Well Ian, you've done it again! The looks incredible! I find that your style of painting draws my eye in like a moth to flame. Please keep up the good work, in the end it can only make me a better modeller from all that I learn.
  15. Hmmm, where is the engine intake? It almost looks faired over, but it could be a trick of the lighting I suppose. Also, is that a hole in the aft fuselage, or some sort of marking? I know, lots of questions but you guys took all the other things I noticed. Could this be a night fighter scheme? The Balkankreuz is also white.
  16. I always seem to have time or money. If for some reason I have both at the same time ( an ultra rare occurrence ), the Mrs seems to take notice and demands one or the other, sometimes both. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it........huh?......oh.......yes dear.
  17. I definitely recall thinking I knew better than who ever designed some of these things! I loved aircraft with lots of symmetry which mean I favored twin engine things. I just could not get past the offset nose gear on the Revell A-10! It was obvious to me that the person building the model for the box top photo must have made a mistake!
  18. Do you remember your first aircraft modeling experience? Mine was when I was 4 years old building a 1/48 Monogram Helldiver , well actually with lots of help from my Dad. I remember thinking that the under wing radar pods must be for floating on water, so I played with it in the bathtub! Later on when I was 12 I thought I had achieved advanced modeller status when I was able to assemble a model without getting glue fingerprints on the canopy. Back then I couldn't wait to get building and gluing whilst at most painting the wheels and props black and maybe one other color like silver. Now I can't assemble anything straight out of the box.
