    Russ,

I remember you excellent Curtiss Shtike A 12 in Chinese colors. Do you remember by chance what paints did you used?

  2. JWM - sorry for the direct approach - didn't want the thread to wander - do you know if there are any ways to find out Sqadron Codes and serial numbers for other planes that Stanislaw Litak flew - I understand he might have flown Hurricanes & maybe spitfires? You seem knowledgeable on the topic.

      Hi,

Here is his history - but I think you know it, though it is in Polish

      https://www.polishairforce.pl/litak.html

It is said that he was flying Tiger Moth, Battle, likely Lysender - during training.s Before WW2 in Poland he had accident on PWS 26. In Squadron 316 prior to Mustang Mk III he flew Spitfires Mk V and IX.

      here

      http://polishsquadronsremembered.com/316/42/316_June1942.html

is his photo on front of Sptfire Vb AR 428, J is visible so likely SZ-J.  From other photos it is visible that they were Vb LF, but having serial I am sure that people can confirm it (or denied).

Here are (in Czech) next infos, he is on one photo among other pilots

      and here also

Here are few more photos about Sq. 316

That is what I was able to find so far.

    Hello Jerzy,

thank you very much for reply.

The sprue in question is "Q" containing the new upper glass nose part plus the upper gunner canopy.

Do you have this? It should have been included in the Z-1 version.

Please let me know, what can I give you in return??

    Greetings from Vienna

Roman, that is a problem. I forgotten about it. The Z-1 I did had already this newer variant of canopy (as seen on photos) so I have only the old style one - with more metal and instrument panel on roof. Still I can sent you other parts but it deas not make you a game...

  5. Hi JWM:

I stumbled across your Blackburn Shark MK III model which is wonderful. My uncle flew #546 when he was in BR 7 in British Columbia in 1942 and 1943. If you are interested I can send you a page from his flight log with a few entries from flying #546. I was in touch with one of his crew members about ten years ago. John Moyles (wireless /air gunner) was the editor of Short Bursts ex air gunners newsletter around that time and he had posted a photo of Gerald's shark on lake Else in BC (a back-up landing spot inland up the Skeena river) where he , Gerald and one other crewman spent the night because the base at Prince Rupert (I think) was fogged in. John also sent me a short note about a particular incident associated with one of Gerald's 546 flight log entries and I can share that as well. (Gerald crashed in Iceland in 1944 and didn't make it back from the war. It was quite haunting to speak to John on the telephone).

    cheers,

      Hi Stefan,

Great! Thank yoiu for your letter. I am very sorry that your uncle Gerald did not returened home from war... The whole story is very interesting not only for me but I am sure for more BM fellows. Such testimonies are always very moving and bring life to the model, which is then more then just a piece o painted plastic :)

So please post it for example in WWII section, or as a comment to my Shark in RFI - just to give chance to others to see it.

Thank you good words about the model (Shark).

BTW - your name is written by "f" not "ph" as in English. It is similar like in middle Europe languages...

      Best regards

      Jerzy-Wojtek

  7. Hi There My Dear Friend Jerzy!!!

Its a real pleasure to write to you, and this time is to ask for your help as You will see:

I has been watching some builds of the PZL P50 kit made by POLAIR and now by AKKURA, was tempted to locate one BUT  remembered that some three-four years or more time ago I bought one second hand at Ebay that came in a bag sealed with packing tape. The seller has no idea which brand and year of manufacturing is, so this is where you enter on scene:

Can you My Dear Friend tell me something about this little gem????

    Cheers!!!!

      Dear Luis-Alfonso

There is a very good article on PZL P50 in English Wiki

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PZL.50_Jastrząb

The only flying P50 was first prototype, and was likely shot down in sept 39 by Polish AA. She never wear military markings, it was just civil registration over NMF machine, but there is a testimony about being painted summer 1939 in silver/dark blue aerobatic scheme (like fameous He-70 for example). The kit is far from real look of machine, at least from the modern knowledge about this. Some unknown previously photos of second prototype were discovered about 15 years ago.  There is a nice Polish booklet containing some drawings about possible look. I have it so if it is not very urgent I can make scans of it for you. I have scanner at my work place and now I am on summer holidays out of work. Therefore it cannot be done instantly. Text is in Polish, so only suitable to some 0.6% of people of the world - those who spokes this langueage :)

      Cheers

      J-W

      Dear Luis Alfonso,

As I know there is only one mould of P50 Jastrząb (Hawk) in styrene and what you have looks like an early production - so therefore it looks better then current Accura which is produced using the same moulds. On one photo you have written 2000 szt. - it means 2000 items. So likely it come from very early series of 2000 kits. There is second Polish kit of P50 but it is resin by Ardpol, much better quality than this one.
