  1. Me again Few pictures of my Trumpeter Seafang. Decided to build it as a "What if Suez crisis with rockets" Rockets are from the Airfix Seafire 47. Drilled the exhaust stubs out other than that OOB. Accuracy wise in terms how the Seafang should look i'm not altogether sure its correct. The Canopy was slightly on the thick side too. Cheers
  2. Just some pics of my Airfix Seafire 17. I wouldnt say i'm a expert builder but trying to learn with each kit I build. Built OOB Cheers
  3. Tonka review in this moths SAMI magazine. Cheers
  4. I know its not strictly model making so I wasnt sure to post it or not. Dont want to cause any offence to fellow model makers. Thanks for the kind comments though.
  5. This is my Jazz Mk2. I built this one with the lessons I learned from the previous custom build. His decals are slightly different and there are more major modifications to the figure to prevent any rubbing during transformation.
  6. I thought by posting in the WIP section it may inspire me to do more to the Beaufighter. I've been on with this kit for the best part of 2 years and never seem to get much achieved before I move on to something else. Unfortunately I've only recently started taking photo's, so this is how it is now. The cockpit and observer position are finished with the fuselage joined together. I've put some 20mm cannon muzzles in. One of the wheel wells has been cut out and I've started to build. the new well.............................so here goes with some more building :/
  7. I like that, Great work there and fantastic ideas..............................
  8. Hi Will Its only my second custom so still all abit of a learning curve. I am still having problems with rubbing when Transforming but am getting there to reduce the rub spots as much as possible. Doing work like this is completely different challenge to doing kits. With it been more of a hands on "model" so to speak and not a static exhibit. Really its all in the prep work and paint types, which have to be very durable. I'm currently on with Jazz Mk2 using the lessons learned on this one.
  9. Here is my custom of the Transformer Autobot Jazz. The plain mold is the one on the left with the custom on the right. Many thanks.
  10. I cant say too much with it been in a future magazine article, BUT if you want to build an F3 dont buy this one! :/
  11. Here is the Matchbox Tonka F3 that I've built for a future classic plastic article in SAMI magazine. It was enough to put me off Matchbox kits for life this one :(Its not perfect by along way but I just had to get the thing finished. Thanks for looking
  12. I recall four Tonka's came in from Bruggen or Laarbruch on a stop over. It would be March 1992. At least one had a desert pink air intake and a few others had some pink service panels around the nose. I suspect they were replacement parts/spares that had been painted pink and not yet been returned to camo. Someone who would have been based in Germany at the time may have better ideas.
  13. I'm not sure about the nose art but when we had Tornado GR1's come into Finningley in 92 some had various panels and air intakes still in desert pink despite been back in camo. Wish I had took some photo's now.
  14. Hi Can anyone tell me what shade of Greys for the top and bottom half of a 1987 Tornado F3 would be please. Aircraft is from 65 sqd. Many thanks
  15. Thats great, I thought that was the case with the FR47 but was unsure on the 17.
  16. Hey up, Just a quickie. Did the FAA Seafires have the same interior base colour as the RAF Spitfires? Plus would the late mark Seafire 47 have a black interior? Help appreciated............cheers
  17. Wow just wow, Bloody fantastic work, really is. One to be very very proud of.
  18. Thats great, many thanks Looks like there will be only 1 to 2 mm shortness in the undercarriage if the aircraft was loaded up and the strutts under compression. I may get away with just the wheels and if this is the cases i'll go after market.
  19. Ah up I've got all the basic parts built up now but the project has stalled while I sort the undercarriage out. How much modification do the wheel wells need to fit the Airfix items (I havnt got the parts yet) Just asking before I decide which Direction to go in. I know I should have planned this before I started but I have never been a great planner :/
  20. Done alittle more tonite..........roof and rear section back on. wheels have been re-fitted. Coat of flat varnish airbrushed on.
