  1. This is a model I have been wanting to build for a long time, finally found a trans kit for the Revell VW Beetle kit - I used the 'Revell VW Beetle Limousine 1968' as the base model. The trans kit used was this one: 'REVELL BAJA BUG WIDE EYE TRANS KIT' from Texas 3D Customs https://tx3dcustoms.com/ I also got a detailed engine, wheels and tires from them. It was quite a tricky build to do, but well worth the result. This is a link to some of the build photos for anyone else wanting to do this conversion: https://slymodels.me/Baja_Bug_Build.html
  2. Fair point, they would be just over 6 feet from the floor, usually pretty good on checking things like this, slipped my mind on this one, unfortunately they are well and truly glued in so I can’t move them.
  3. This started out as a bit of fun and a little project to build something to photo my new car builds in. Once I had built the garage I decided to add some pieces to set it as a late 60s workshop so added some period photos and posters, a service chart and wiring diagram for a MK II Jaguar. Once finished I decided to add some workshop lighting to give a different effect for photos.
  4. Hi Anteater, Your are correct it is the Italeri Range Rover Classic, it’s painted with Tamya TS-62 Nato Brown. Yes the dog is a bit big, he was the only one I could find! The straps were a real pain to put together but I think well worth the effort. Thanks for the comment re the Jag. Cheers, Sly
  5. Nice build, enjoying looking at your recent posts, inspiring stuff!
  6. This is a build I did last year, kits used: Tamiya Jaguar MkII, Italeri Range Rover Classic & Aoshima Brian James A4 Transport Trailer. Set out to create a bit of a vintage feel race team arriving at a circuit and getting ready to unload.
  7. Thanks for the great feedback, encouraged me to post a couple more of my past builds.
  8. For anyone wanting to do a snow effect it was was done with AK Interactive - Snow Microballoons, Terrains Snow, Snow Sprinkles and Splatter Effects Wet Mud (mixed in a small amount to get the dirty snow effect and splatters on the car). First time I’ve used all these products and very happy with the result. The terrains snow is a bit awkward to use and quite thick to apply. The snow microballons is a brilliant product (also used it to get the snow on the underside of the car), sprinkled some snow sprinkles on top whilst it was still wet. Sly
  9. For Nick, got the smallest LEDs I could find on Amazon, was a real struggle getting them to the fit - had to cut down the plastic covers on the LEDs - ran all the wiring outside the car to a couple of circuit boards which are hidden behind the cliff, power is from a 12 volt 1 amp power supply.
  10. Haven't posted here for about 10 years. Just finsished this build (it's made to fit in a display case), took some time getting all the lights set up! Let me kow what you think. 😀
  11. Thanks for the great replies and comments! Re Miggers comment, used a bit of artistic licence and this picture as some inspiration. Off to start the next build now. Cheers, Sly

  15. Thanks for the feedback. Tony, the Tiger Moth is K2585 - RAF No. 32 Squadron, Central Flying School, Preserved at the Shuttleworth Collection. More information here: http://www.shuttleworth.org/shuttleworth-collection/aircraft-details.asp?ID=34. From research I have done the colour scheme is from the Central Flying School in the 1930s, here is a photo of their aerobatic team of 4 De Havilland Tiger Moth I aircraft rehearsing for an RAF Display at Wittering, 13 June 1932 http://www.rafmuseumphotos.com/tiger-moth-i-aircraft-of-the-central-flying-school/print/1768743.html Here are a few pics of the build: Sly
  16. This is my first post, just finished a Tiger Moth build and would appreciate any feedback. The model is the Revell 1:32 TIger Moth, colour scheme is based on a Tiger Moth at the Shuttlewort Collection. Sly
