  1. Food packaging that states 'easy-open', and 're-sealable'. Cruel jests at the expense of the male species.

I'm not sure why they bother. It's easier to take the contents out and keep it in a sandwich bag. That way you can tell how much is left!

  2. ATerrible day today, glad I am going to Airbourne tomorrow, and then have the week off. And tomorrow is my birthday.

  3. Those smiley people in headsets you see illustrating 'Customer Services' on websites: stock photos or generic experiment?

You mean genetic experiment. They will be the Master Race.

  4. Hannants Colindale had better brace itself. In two weeks' time, I will be there.

  5. I wonder could you breathe underwater using an airbrush?

No, unless you had some means of expelling the exhaled air. Maybe you could run an airbrush off a scuba tank (I used to run my airbrush off a Reliant Rialto tyre...)

  8. nothing like the depressive yet joyful feeling of binning a model your never going to finish

Know that feeling well. Save the usable bits for your spares box tho.

  9. Not having fun trying to work out why my CB6 is only using 3 of it's perfectly good 4 cylinders

  10. I just managed to strip skin from the palm side of both thumbs while trying to open a jar of Gunze acrylic. Note to self: Clean the gunge from the threads before closing the jar next time.

Hold jammed jars under the (very) hot tap for a while or use the kettle. Heat will soften the paint.

Great photos, always like to see light planes.

  12. Just how long do you leave oil paints on for weathering before brushing off?

    1. Nomore Shelfspace

      Nomore Shelfspace

Oil paint can takes days to dry, but I'd get the xcess off as soon as possible.

  13. Spitfires buzzing about. Summer has started...

  14. Duxford: haven't been to an air show in years so am looking forward to this Saturday. Last one I went to had quite a few vendors selling kits, books and so on. Assuming they still do that?

    1. Nomore Shelfspace

      Nomore Shelfspace

Vendors have always been at air shows as far back as I can remember!

Wondering if Airfix will buy some of their stuff, given their association in the past.

  17. Photobucket. I give up. Complete waste of space. About as useful as a Sinclair C5 on a motorway during downpour!

I find it doesn't like large file sizes, so use an image editor to "decrease image resolution" to say 72 dpi. Most digital cams give you files too big for intenet use.

I only use the etch bits I think will be seen, or look right.

  19. Need to be more careful when buying paint, now over 5 pound wasted and all I have to show for it is two pots of random dark greens not suited to raf camo

  20. Wishing all the atheists a merry mythmas and a logical new year.

  21. Xtracrylic suddenly crazing, thoughts? Used over gloss varnish never happened before

    1. Nomore Shelfspace

      Nomore Shelfspace

Maybe applying it over gloss varnish isn't a good idea, could be a reaction with whatever is in the varnish.

  22. With the Jetstream TMk1 build stalled because I am so frustrated with producing a decent instrument panel, I have spent the day correlating stuff for the future 4 (yes FOUR) Albert builds. That's C-130s to the Phillistines out there! ;)

    1. Nomore Shelfspace

      Nomore Shelfspace

Will the panel be that visible once the model is complete?

Well, to me it's a heck of a long way to go as I live on the south coast. I'd have spent most of the day driving.
