So now I've got Steve Miller Band playing in my head ("I'm a midnight toker...") and the graphics from the Beatles "Yellow Submarine" (movie) in my visual memory.

I'd love to see more about the construction (conversion) process!

I thought more about famous Jokers smile from Batman movies and comics 😁 Unfotunately I have one photo from build:

It is a super model. Weathering overdone? Perhaps in comparison to the well-known photo of the aircraft

But perhaps not two weeks later.

But one problem: The spinner is not red; probably white.

When i'm building model I always mix weathering from many photo sources, not 1 particular. There is second photo which is showing same aircraft, when order to repaint all planes spinners (maybe for recogition purposes) to red colour was executed

  2. Spitfire Vc from very modified Revell MK II kit with entirely new ammo covers and bubbles, Vokes filter and canopy from Hasegawa MK V. Master gun barrels, resin wheels from Halinski, bronze legs from Eduard, Eduard etch, Montex Masks. Lots of small corrections, cockpit was changed too.

  3. New Chaika from ICM, nice kit, fast to build. I made conversion to early type - with spinner similar to I-16 or I-15 Bis. I think that it is prettier than late - but it is only my opinion. It looks like a cartoon plane, from Mickey Mouse comic book :). After doing photo session i got info that metal parts of plane were light grey, so i corrected it and first two photos are with this change.

Lovely Raiden. The finish and weathering look just right to me.

May I ask what paints you used?

    Kind regards,

    David

Thx. I used Gunze H59 IJN Green, for bottom I mixed white with grey.

Beautiful job, have the same kit, and it's a beauty. Parts count is not high but the detail on them is.

If your getting into 1/32 it's a fantastic kit to get started, you won't get bogged down with the build which can happen with some of the other 1/32 scale kits out there

Exactly, it was one of my fastest and most pleasant builds. I wonder why i didn't started it before.

  6. I bought this kit few years ago, before Eduard made their Limited Edition P-47 set, but i lost my appetite for this big fish smile.png. Now i have new airbrush from Gunze so it was a good time to check how it works. I used these additions for P-47:

    - Eduard resin wheels,

    - interior PE set,

    - RB model gun barrels,

    - Montex masks/decals

great set of kits😊 Documentary on tv, pointed out what a horrible war this was, as they all are, yet, the airpower that played its part, still very interesting 😊

Yes, like every war. There is many lies about this topic, I personally think that Francos victory was better option than government of Stalins puppets and destruction of minds and industry like it was in Poland, where I live.

  8. Thanks guys!

I wanted to build P-40 with shark teeths but on one of the Polish forums is contest about 10th anniversary. Go ahead with yours!

Nice one, the RAF desert colours look great on any aircraft but on a P-40 they really suit.

  9. P-40 from Trumpeter. I made few corrections and added things to cockpit and engine. Tail wheel bay is bulit from scratch. Decals (mainly) are from Techmod and gun barrels and pitot tube are from Master. Unfortunately i broke pitot tube ending.  WIP thread was on LSP:

I forgot about gunsight, so i did one photo with it. It is on the end of this post.

  10. Hi!

I made a fast diorama with new PZL P.7a from Arma Hobby. I bought overtrees kit and builded it without any additions except dampers tapes. Support is from wood, cloud is a painted rock, air streaks are from cotton swab soaked with CA glue and number 7 is made from plastic plate. Kit is nice but needs cleaning and puttying some plastic recesses. After that work everthing fits perfectly.

That is a tremendous build and finish on the model and I really like the camouflage colours you have used which look extremely accurate. What paints did you use to achieve this?

    Gary

Thanks :D. I made my own mixtures. For green i used Tamiya XF-5 as a base with white and black, blue is Tamiya Sky Blue X-14 with white. Black is Tamiya Black and faded black/grey is black with RLM 66 and white. My reference were profiles on Massimo Tessitori site about russian planes.

  12. Trumpeter MiG-3 with Part set, resin exhausts and Montex masks. Inscription on the side means "For the motherland". Nice kit with, surprisingly, no major errors. I improved few things like a propeller blades - awfully thick in the kit. As a support for photos I used old cigarette case from Soviet Union when Saint Petersburg was a Leningrad. For Poland where I live, it was a dark and hard time. May it never come back.
