A massive attack of gout, courtesy of my stuffed kidneys (don't ask) and a week at work in 40C + heat and attendant humidity. Thankfully responding to treatment, but it's going to be a sucky weekend, and a miserable beginning to next week at work. At least I don't have anyone to worry about, I can just sit and do nothing for the duration, and swear lustily when I have need to get up and walk.

Very nicely done, a kit that I keep looking at but have yet to commit to buying. Once this is done, you'll need to do the AMG version.

When I first heard that one, it was a B-52 and an F-4, and the BUFF driver added that he'd shut down 2 engines.

That would've been the most unexciting display ever, given the aero limitations placed on the type. I love Javelins, but they weren't the most successful flying machine ever committed to service.

Good luck, it's not the best kit ever released... I'm OK with the one that I finally finished, but next time I'll use the Fujimi Mk. XIV as a base - at least they fit together. The decals on the Airfix kit are pretty good though, sharp and in register as well as being pretty tough, so that's a bit of a bonus. As has been said, they don't want to settle into Airfix's panel trenches, I ended up cutting all of mine along the trench, and redoing the setting solution. Looks OK from 3 feet, which is my standard measure of excellence.

Five (count 'em!) Red Roo Catalina engine wotsits to replace the dodgy undersized ones on Academy's 72th Catalina, and also their (Red Roo's, not Academy's) 48th Bristol Sycamore kit, to be done in the flying billboard version for Thorn Atlas TVs. It's... quite petite for a 48th scale kit. Also arriving this week was a pair of Air Graphic's 1/72nd Vinten VICON recon pods, Canadian Starfighters for the arming of. Despite the recent negativity about them on this forum, they arrived from Air Graphic in less than 2 weeks, UK to Australia. And they look pretty good, too - certainly much better than I could scratch. And some bits for my Impreza (not the Rex), but you guys aren't interested in them. Chopped liver, obviously.

Two stubborn bidders, or one idiot and an unscrupulous seller with a fake second account... Don't scoff, I've seen it happen often enough that it's got to be a fact - quite often, the same seller will relist the item a week after the auction ends.

Add a normally closed magnetic reed switch into the circuit. To turn it off, place a magnet next to the switch's location, remove it to turn it on. If you're putting it into a diorama, the magnet can be concealed inside a crate or barrel (or even a figure, if the scale's large enough) so that it's not an eyesore when things are static.
