  1. 2 of them? That (almost) makes one real car! F.I.A.T. - Fix it again, Tony!
  2. Meh, BoB GB... no disrespect, but did that subject *really* need a group build slot? It's not like it's an unpopular subject... Oh well. Let's get this one rockin', and try to interest others in it.
  3. Wondering.. is there any way to review what I voted for?
  4. NIcely done. I don't think I'll bother doing mine now, there's no way I can even come close to this.
  5. !/144 would make it acceptably small, yes. I wasn't really suggesting you build it, just giving you a backstory.
  6. I now wish I hadn't got rid of mine in the 'Great Stash Cull of 2009'. Very nice work, and as has been said, good to see an non-US airframe.
  7. Another possibility for range increase might be to launch it, Mistel-style, from a much larger carrier. The Fw-200 Condor would be sized right, except that it could barely support its own weight without falling apart. Maybe a Ju-88 Zwillung?
  8. Phil, the original idea was for just that, but I had a rush of blood to the head when I realised that a small plastic bloke just standing there holding a thin rod wasn't terribly informative. Or interesting. Although if I give him a lit ciggie underneath a large and colourful NO SMOKING sign.... hmm... Andrew, that was my first thought too. Glad I'm heading in the right direction. Some experimentation is obviously in order!
  9. Not that I've ever seen, RM. But then, I've never looked specifically for them, either.
  10. Strange bedfellows... a revolutionary socialist African island nation, speaking colonial French, flying Soviet Russian aircraft given to them by a Communist Asian state, hangared next to US- and British-built airframes. It's a mad, mad, mad, mad world.
  11. Trumpeter's 1/48th Westland Wyvern uses a small planetary gearbox to drive the contra-props (Turn the front one by hand, rear one goes the opposite direction. Kinda cool.). There may be something similar available online. Remember that you can extend the shafts back into the nacelle, so you won't have to cram it all in behind the prop. Flexi shafts are an option, as well, if you can't get a straight line to the prop drive. EDIT: After a mission involving deep stash diving (I must admit to not expecting to come back), I dug out a 48th Wyvern and a 72nd Trumpeter Bear... the 48th g/box fits into the Bear's nacelle with room to spare. There'll need to be some engineering done, but nothing that couldn't be conquered. I'm not sure how good Trumpeter are at replacement parts, but they may be worth approaching. For the record, the nacelles on a 72th Bear are huge. Lots of room for all sorts of gubbins. If you want photos, I can manage that.
  12. Hi guys. Brains trust question. I'm looking to do a small vignette of an armoured vehicle being pressure cleaned after a day in the muck. I can scratch all the bits I need, but I can't quite work out the best/easiest/most realistic way of doing the fan of pressurised water coming from the nozzle. I do have some ideas, but thought I'd get some other perspectives. Any thoughts welcome. Rob.
  13. Chimney? That sounds like it belongs on a house... how about 'stack'? Although we use that for factories, don't we?...
  14. Lovely build, but heavens, it's an ugly aircraft.
  15. I often wonder if machines live for days like this, when they get to do something out of the ordinary.
  16. I love those late/post-war piston engined monsters. There's something about them that stirs my blood. And you sir, have done a cracking job on this kit. Inspiration for me to drag my own out of the stash and start it. Right after I finish the couple of dozen other winged things I have sitting around...
  17. A big 'Double Ugly'. Noice! Inspiration for me to use that Yellowhammer 74 Sqn Tiger sheet I have in 48th on... something...
  18. Nice job Hendie. For some reason, Daleks never scared me, even as a child, possibly because of the whole stairs thing. And also possibly because my Mum worked at the Beeb in the 60s and used to tell us stories of seeing Daleks in the corridors.... Cybermen were always much more threatening. And some of the one-off aliens were quite disturbing. But Daleks, no. Still a great build from an ordinary kit.
  19. Looks good mate. The other great Phantom kits are the 72nd ESCI ones, very nice indeed. I have several in the stash, and one day, I will finish the 2 I have started. One fine day...
  20. Marvellous effort, that! Top job, old chap. All jesting and silly voices aside, this gives me hope that one day I will find the time and skill to make a start on my big Bentley.
  21. Oh goodie, a mini review on the new Gladiator. I'm happy that it's good, I can now buy a couple and get on with my Latvian AF builds... Nice work, too.
  22. Accurate references, that's what we need.
  23. Page 9. You can thank me later (although good luck matching model paints to Pantone...) http://www.qantas.com.au/guidelines/resources/Qantas_Masterbrand_Guidelines_June_2013.pdf
  24. Most likely. But the erk got the much better view, I imagine.
