Hmm. So, what's the excuse for the Meteor and Sea Fury's short shot issues, the flow marks in the 72nd Lightning's canopy and probably others that slip what remains of my mind. All the named kits predate Covid, so that excuse won't wash.
It's contempt for their customer base, that's all. India, like every industrialised modern nation, will work to any quality level that the customer wishes to pay for. Hornby simply don't want to pay for a high enough level.
The number of people who are willing to forgive Airfix anything simply because they're Airfix is quite astounding, and it seems as if Hornby is aware of that. If the investment is that big (which it is), then surely adding just a bit more to the pot to make certain that you've got a quality product that encourages people to buy it is a reasonable expense? I would've thought so...
