  1. Err- these both fly! and at the same time- can't you imagine being about to chomp down on a burger at Shoreham, and these two scream in from the sea- over the South Downs,,,
  2. -and boy, I can only imagine the hairs and tngling down the spine upon seeing this display
  3. It's quite obvious what they are doing- the Aircraft is a GORGEOUS ENGLISH BRITISH Sptfire Mk1, which has just taken out at least 20 jerries in one sortie, being rearmed ready to take out another couple of dozen. I would imagine the pilot is having a quick, fag, wag and moustache tweak, before the humdrum tedious business of knocking the hun out of the sky resumes for the rest of the day..
  4. Well after sitting around for almost a year- I got the mojo back on this one. the cockpit is now finished and just a few tiny peripherals to add to the airframe. The forward instrument panel and coaming etc are just dry assembled, so the fact the hud glass is not perfectly aligned is not an issue- yet lol The decal belts look a lot better in the flesh- the camera has made them look a bit naff.
  5. That engine colour is spot on for a 2.5 litre!! Edit- just noticed- the three bolts that hold the rocker cover down are missing- how could they miss that!!!!
  6. Apart from Gunze being God's chosen paint, they have a very good rendition of Luftwaffe colours, certainly waaaay close enough, representative, and have a great visual "feel." Many paints suffer from being too dark, and this is in part due to being matched to fresh paint stock at 1/1 scale and many other variations that go the "wrong way" for us scale modelers. Also it might be an idea to go and dig up a 1940's Luftwaffe aircraft that has been kept sealed in fresh conditions by it's prison for the last 70 years. Oh- can't do that- well there's photographs.. oh- bugger What I'm trying to say is- EXPERIMENT!
  7. Bollix- I did- how could I- Mental wrings hands in despair...
  8. I think there is a flair dispenser on the port, the Charisma dispenser to starboard, and the style pod is carried these days on the centreline... Sorry, couldn't resist
  9. This is seriously against my current financial planning, but I'm not going to get caught and hurt again- either by ebay- or the chinese.. Missiles can surely be robbed from other places? and maybe this release will stir Aries or somebody into doing a massive resin splurge?
  10. Ahhh- I may well have a go at doing Caroline Grace' Spit for this one- its a stalled project for a special person- maybe now I can give it the impetus it needs. Plan is to use the ICM fuselage and the Hasegawa wings and other detail parts.
  11. compatibility wise? Just about to use it for the first time on some clear parts on a Tamiya F-16..
  12. Handsome and important aircraft. I bought those decals from IPMS something or other at a Nats a few years back but in 1/72. I thought I saw this new kit on a web site a few days ago- but it was like 36 quid- YIKES!!!
  13. It's bloody brilliant- I never realised Mike had so little hair!
  14. The more I see of those Kagero books, the more I like them
  15. Oh please tell more- interesting indeed! And how could anyone bad mouth our wonderful non biased & non political BBC........
  16. Mish- you buy that one in then? bloody hell there ain't no stopping you is there!
  17. When a few years ago, the rumour of a 1/48 Tamiya B-17 was extremely strong and recurring, the big question on everyone's lips was "Would you buy it if it cost as much as 100 quid?" Well it seems that question has been answered with the big Spitfire, and IF Tamiya indeed ever intended to produce a 1/48 B-17, they really should do it, as it seems there are many many of you out there that can afford such models..
  18. Nice job- as to it looking right- it doesn't, becasue it isn't. IIRC the problem is the nose/canopy. I have a friend who is a true master modeller and served in the RAF throughout the cold war, he was also a total accuracy freak, and I'm sure they were the areas mostly at fault.
  19. Only yesterday I was looking at some clothes spelt FCUK I think you might be able to get my impression of your handiwork from the above statement!
  20. What a great little plane the Ki-44 was. Lovely job!
