dont know julien the 2nd & 4th aircraft in a banked line are 612 & 627 but 567 & 564 which are 1&3 in the line look like a blackish grey. be interesting to see the original.chris

had a look in bomber squadrons of the RAF, the only photo of 149's B2's shows an air to air of WJ 567,612, 564 &627 near Gutersloh in september 1954 in what appears to be NMF. chris at least 612 & 627 are but 564 & 567 are distinctly less reflective.

Hi Ronnie not aware of the dutch decal sheet,i have a sheet with orions on it,which i think replaced the atlantics,so i've missed that one. model art did two sheets,number 11 with french & italian options & number 47 which only had french options,only standard markings in both cases, no special schemes. if your thinking of doing salisbury saturday then paul davis will be there,with a selection of modelart decals and brigade models are also attending,they also carry a few modelart sheets.hth chris

Hi Darren I've been looking for a 'C' since jabba beat me to the only one at last years nationals,i've had one on order with the aviation hobby shop since then.problem is its the importer at fault.i contacted pocketbond who informed they were arriving in january!!!.i phoned up again about a week ago to be told they were now in stock,wait for this,a whole 8 of them.when i asked why only 8 they replied they didn't realize the kit was that "popular".lucky for me i picked one up at cosford this weekend courtesy of steve & des at Mr Models. chris

Dave sorry no facility to do a scan but ss 72-271 has markings for two aircraft based at carswell afb in 1949,both of the 7th bg,a b36a 44-92028 silver overall with a complete red rear section and tail and a b36b 44-92015,silver overall.hth chris

Mike dont know if its of any help/interest to you but in Septembers SAMI there's a build article by Ken Duffy on this kit.Looks like the main wheels could stand replacing at least,so i dont think i'll start mine till i see what your bringing out.hth chris

On the subject of nose weight i generally pop into kwik fit,and manage to talk the fitters into letting me have some of the wheel balance weights,removed from the cars,which can be melted down.chris

Just had a quick look through Fighter Squadrons of the RAF and there is a black and white photo of FB5 VZ303 on a sodden pan at Ousten in September 1956 and the underside colour i would say is anything but silver.hth chris
