noddy927 replied to noddy927's topic in Work in Progress - Armour
Hi Nige Sorry I have not been on for a few months I have been sooooo busy, work and stuff. It seems Mitches military models has now discontinued their small range, he is selling only 120mm and 200mm. Here is their site though you could try emailing them. http://www.mitchesmilitarymodels.co.uk/home/4550845838 Cheers Pete -
Recent visit from ARW Utah to my place of work
noddy927 replied to noddy927's topic in Aviation Photography
Thanks guys. We get a few military aircraft in, we had a Canadian C-130 a couple of months ago, Eurofighter Typhoon from Lossiemouth, Apache helis, Chinooks. The Red Arrows last year. A 757 from the States with the seal on the side.......but it wasn't Airforce one. We were not sure we had a bar for the KC135, luckily we found an old bar lying behind our de-icing fluid bins.It would have been staying alot longer if it hadn't fit lol. The crew were gutted as they were staying over at Prestwick and had been refused permission at EDI. Pete -
This baby came into EDI to drop off some troops a KC-135R, they were down for about 2 hours then I pushed it out for it's trip to their next stop. Stood and chatted to the crew, and asked if they minded me taking a few pics which they were happy to allow. They told me if I had asked earlier they would have taken me into the aircraft to take more...........bummer. They are from Utah Air National Guard Air Refueling Wing. Really nice guys.........and goddam tall. Pete

Johnsons Klear would be your best bet for a clear gloss coat, airbrushed or hand painted. It is pretty bomb proof for your weathering. Pete Nice Chieftain by the way, I also have this kit.

Marcus Gears of War incl. base
noddy927 replied to noddy927's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
A resin figure which had movable legs and arms. I don't know the make. I glued the movable parts in place, filled all joins and a few holes. Undercoated it and repainted it as it is now. Blastvader you never thought you would speak to Noddy? Hope I made your day........big ears says hello too Pete -
Yeah will it was pre built, did some filling and undercoated him and repainted. I have now done a base so the new pics are in SF where this blog should have been. Still new to the site so finding my way around. Pete
-
Recently finished this build, now has a base to finish it off. Will be taking to East of Scotland model show, if anyone is going come say hello. Pete

You're welcome Chris, and thanks for the comments. RE: patience......believe me it was trying at times, and when i spent one evening on it when I was tired (big mistake, models and tiredness don't mix) it nearly took it's 1st flight. But overcame the issues the next day. Thanks again for the comments guys, I appreciate them all. Pete

Thanks guys, loved playing gears too. And Marcus was badass. Wonder when the film will come out Pete

Thanks guys much appreciated. Pete I would love to see them, but they display very rarely now, and with the issues over in the Ukraine at present I don't think I will see them any time soon. Pete

Great idea I agree, great way to use up old kits. I see your compressor looks like mine Pete -
Wow your eyes are better than mine buddy, I would struggle to see the figures never mind painting them. Pete
-
Finished....well it needs a coat of matt, but apart from that it is finished. And without the helmet Comments welcome. Now I have 2 weeks before the show........where is that 200mm Paddy Maine figure. Pete
-
Got some of the decals on and started the landing gear. Pete

Thanks guys, I have done some more work.......in fact alot. The figure is 90% complete and the base now has base coat (no pun intended) so not far off. Had to build a new tail for the desert rat ,thats the small one not the one wearing camo as it broke off. Will upload pics later today Pete
