  1. Dear All, my next attempt to conciliate the Guardians of modelling Mojo (#6 this year)... : The mighty Ural 4320: Picture from Scalemates: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/zvezda-3654-ural-4320--1017237 This is a BIG truck, the engine is a YaMZ-238M2 V8 diesel of 15 Liter with a weight of just over a ton in itself (IRL that is). Chassis: Winch and rear axes: And now a question: The fuel tank is shown below Would anyone know if those tiny lines shown are indeed some sort of piping system? I have managed to turn the top and bottom parts 180' wrong so the lines are no longer "connected" and I have managed to sand quite some off as well 😐 If they are present on the real thing I will scratch them - but happy to avoid if I can. Hold your thumbs and happy modelling! Zack
  2. I am sorry for your loss. Was wearing the black band myself in feb, one can be prepared but ready you are not. My condolences CC. Johan
  3. Thx Ade HπŸ‘πŸ˜Ž I Guess it is painted in some sort of alu dope... Will get the AB out and post it up for comments. Wish you a productive modelling weekend! Over to some serioues πŸ₯ƒπŸΈπŸΊπŸš±
  4. Looking for something completely different I have now stumbled over Zvezda's Ural -4320. What a beast!!! The engine is a YaMZ-238M2 V8 diesel of 15 Liter with a weight of just over a ton in itself. The instructions would have you paint it all in flat aluminum with exceptions of the rubber parts and the sheet steel items such as the cylinder head covers and the oil pan. A quick look around the net seems to confirm this. But I would like to ask for your opinion, anyone seen this bad brute IRL? Happy modelling and TGIF! Zack
  5. Thank you Jackson Duvalier, I did get myself two of the Arma Mk VI when they had them up for a special and was thinking one should be "In Flight". Checked out the Airfix drawings and A4 is just a bent rod - I think I can bend a rod and plastic card for the closed doors should do. Arma's kit comes with weighted tires - so there will be enough fettling before this cat is put to sleep Thank you and Best Regards! Zack the Hummingbird tamer
  6. Hi, Has anyone built this little beauty landing gear up? Tips and tricks welcome Happy modelling! Zack
  7. Hello Longbow, Got myself the same Trumpeter release. Tagging along here to pick up tips and tricks on the go. I take it we get all the parts required to build a regular F6F-3 in the box. I have not invested in any AM parts yet, do I need the resin wheels? Your engine looks fantastic, are you planing to use some of the clear cowling parts to display your work? Looking forward to your next update πŸ‘πŸ˜Ž Zack
  8. Strike II - check. Ready to go again! Been DAO for 16 weeks but this is exactly what I need to clean out the home office and & reinstate the man cave. Were do I enlist? Zack
  9. Dear All, Thank you very much for taking your time to respond and the excellent feedback! @Lawzer would never have thought of that but makes sense, will look @Stew Dapple Thanks Stew, I guess my problem will be the Curtiss mix 😐 @LDSModeller Alan, brilliant photo references, thanks m8! @72modeler Thank you the details and the link. Thank you all, no excuses now I guess Stay Safe and Happy Modelling! Wish you all a splendid weekend Zack
  10. Hi CC, I'll PM you the address. Were do I send the hand crafted Swedish beer? Very Best Regards Zack
  11. The P-40 War Hawk has been on my wish list for some time and I finally ended up with Trumpeters offering in 1/32. Not quite sure what to say... But I have a few questions to the community 1.) Was there ever a dashboard over the Instrument Panel? 2.) What color was the area covered by glas behind the pilots headrest? 3.) What is part N1(N2), is it a position light? 4.) What color is the air intake under the prop? 5.) Instructions have you paint the wheel wells in Field Green. Field Green??? I know that I have seen answers to some (if not all) of these question in a thread here on this forum before, I just can not find them again now 😐 Very Best Regards Zack
  12. XLNT Hurryshow! Catapulted my Moyo back out of the cellar, thanks CC ... job issues - we just outsourced the support section ... now we are getting less done in quicker time - sort of instant coffee 😐 TGIF //Z
  13. Hi M3talpig, Good to see you back And thank you for posting the compilation of 503/123 pictures - much appreciated Unfortunately the link seems to be down. Been a tough couple of weeks lately, and thoughts are not very focused. Anyway, a comparsion of dark yellow paints for you... same set but in different light: From left to right: The Tamiya "new" Dark Yellow II XF-88 The Vallejo primer "Dunkelgelb 7028" The Tamiya "old" Dark Yellow XF-60 Hannats Xtracrylix "Dunkelgelb" XA1805 Closest to RAL 8000 is the Vallejo (#2 from left) in my eyes. Now... GT coming up Stay safe, it ain't over yet. Zack
  14. Dear fellow BM'ers, My starting kit will be this old lady: Only add on will be a set of engine screens and TSR 1 periscope if I can find one (or a drawing). The kit has been around since 2012 but original release was in the late 80's. Guess you have all seen Dragons Pz. III roadwheels so I save the photo session until later today... But here is a link for the curious among you... https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/panzerbeobachtungswagen-iii/ Magic Tracks ( 😍 or 🀬 ) and at least 50% parts for the spares box. Stay safe, stay sane & happy modelling Zack
  15. @Jasper dog Looking good! Like the way the camo came out - you are close now πŸ˜€ "Nachschub" has arrived. The release date was 1995 - and that does show. Looking at the "boxart" you would think that there are 4 figurines included, and there are - sort off. Two identical sprues with 2 sets of bodies, 3 pair of arms and 4 heads + 1 cat and a spare Panther roadwheel. πŸ€” Stay safe guys! Zack, cat keepers & crate makers Ltd. BTW, were do I sign up with this new "old" arrival?
  16. Hi, Another Tunisian? Excellent sets of tank riders as well - need to check out MiniArts range... Would be really cool if there was a set of those para's in the background of 131! Escape from Kirovograd? I am debating with myself - the 131 or the Border Model early.... Good luck with your next build and stay safe Zack
  17. Hello Longbow, Just to confirm: Had a look at Border Models TigerI Early (BT-010) and they do have a color plate for 503's 123 and guess what 😁 They agree with you πŸ€ πŸ‘πŸπŸ₯ƒπŸŽ‰ Now - I am back at the bench tomorrow 🚱πŸ₯ƒπŸΈ Keep safe, keep sane and happy modelling Zack, the 🎨 blender PS I was never in doubt 😬😬😬 Ever... DS
  18. @Dads203 Have the Dragon 6660, drop me a PM if interested. Stay safe, stay sane and happy modelling Zack
  19. I know, stubborn like a mule... So, assuming 123 was an early-early, delivered in Panzer Grey or RAL 7021. The possible alternatives (to my mind) would be: 1.) Panzer Grey over-painted with Dunkelgelb nach muster, http://panzerbaer.de/colours/a_relaunch/wh_tarn-b.htm suggest a ratio of 2 to 1 DG to PG. 2.) Tropen Scheme #1 RAL 8000 with areas of RAL 7008. Unlikely since this was a very early vehicle, 1942 and not 1943. 3.) 1943 new "standard" RAL 7028 Dark Yellow, RAL 6003 Olive Green, RAL 8017 Chocolate Brown. Supplied to the troops and field applied. 4.) S13 at Kursk is often depicted in an overall sand with green stripes. Could have bee a variation of the above. So, no science (this has been debated since the man walked on water) just your opinion or even better, great insight! Interestingly, a base coat of Vallejo surface Primer 7021 (PG) lightly coated with Vallejo surface primer 7028 (DG) turns... Green 😐 (whooohaa...) So, I give the paint mule a couple of goes tomorrow, out of Tonic again.... Yours truly... Zack
  20. Hi, Thank you for posting these - xlnt build. Saving this to my must go to Very Best Regards Zack
  21. Yo Dads203, Think I have one or two, let me confirm #'s. 6253 is also in the stash, go Ebay and get the $$$ or consider this thread for a πŸ‘. Trying to reduce stash, if suitable only postage & any Brexit (you guys are "overseas" now) add-ons would need to be covered. Will get back shortly. //Z
  22. Thanks Bob, Anytime soon I will help you out with your Swedish Best Regards Zack
