  1. @Chuckb1, the Leander class and all ships of that type are intersting looking bevause of the focsl, very good ships for the cost however
  2. I realize that it is open. I probably typed something wrongwrong.http://www.worldaffairsboard.com/battleships-board/62816-uss-texas.html here is the site i got it from the link will be about three quarters of the way down the page. Even open, it still doesnt change the fact its in need of lots of repair
  3. Http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/state-pa...ntetexassurvey With any luck this should privide your answers
  4. It was pulled in the 90s and in 2012 it had a massive leak in the port side blister. If i can find the status repirt from parks and wildlife i will be more than glad to give it to you. Just give me a few minutes
  5. It is a sad time for once mighty ships. Its usually not just time taking its toll but money as well. To permanently dry dock Texas, with all the necessary repairs. Its 80 million U.S. dollars. ships are very expensive
  6. It is, i had read the report previously and its disgusting. History is lost if they deside to scrap her, or even let her rust in her berth :'(
  7. So with the battleship Texas being the last dreadnought type ship and also quite famous for it's service in both world wars, i figured it was only fitting to have a thread about this grand old lady. I will say this though. She is in terrible condition. Most of the hull is rotted and leaking.
  8. That would be a near dioroma, set it in a Babylon 5 hangar with a gun star
