  1. I think the part number is S48021 https://www.oxoniansplasticfantastic.com/pavla-s48021-148-resin-ejection-seats-martin-baker-mk6-buccaneer-4009-p.asp
  2. First time delving into Warhammer. Needed a break from aircraft, and after falling down the YouTube rabbit hole ended up watching painting videos of the newish Primaris Marines and thought I'd give them try. Thoroughly enjoyed building this guy, don't think it turned out too bad, using the citadel contrast paints thinned with some medium as a wash at the end think it gave a pretty good effect. Base is made up of some old sprue and lead wire, definitely an area i need to work on. Base coat of Macarrge Blue, dry brushed with temple guard blue, Laviathon Blue contrast thinned with medium as a wash and then dry brushed to pick up the edges with temple guard again.
  3. No, that's my mistake, I think on the xtradecal it shows that it wraps around, or at least goes to the very edge of the tail. I havnt got the confidence to run a scalpel along the tail to trim it back a bit.
  4. Revells 1/48 Phantom, disguised as 892 squadron from Ark Royal. Had this one sitting in the corner for a while now, not even sure why I abandoned it. Finished off this weekend, sprayed on the black panels along the spin (although they may be a bit small) and attached some sidewinders. Xtradecal decals used for 892 markings. Sits nicely next to the buccaneer.
  5. Great job. Just got mine this morning, looking forward to starting it.
  6. Cheers for all the comments guys, really appreciate it.
  7. Yeah she does tend to take a swipe at them as I'm building them. Shes recovering from being run over so cant get to mad at her at the moment.
  8. Calling these finally done, RFI links below. A long slog to get these finished, but really enjoyable.
  9. Calling this finally done. Been on going for all most a year. Despite the reputation of this kit I really enjoyed it, pushed me to use techniques and materials I havnt used before. I should have added more painting detail to the wing folds but, I really couldn't be bothered. Aftermarket consisted of: Neomega Resin Cockpit Aries wing fold Aries air brakes Pavla resin flaps
  10. Fantastic! I though the first picture was a painting you were trying to resemble at first.
  11. Airfix EE Lightning F6 1/48 11 Squadron Thoroughly enjoyable build with any issues or mistakes caused by myself rather than the kit, would defiantly build another. Only took a couple of evenings to do, was a nice break after getting bogged down with the Revell GR4 and the never ending Buccaneer builds. Only down sides were a couple of bits missing, antenna on top of the canopy and one of the nose wheel doors, due to it being a second hand kit off Ebay and the decals were out of register. Straight out of the box with the only adjustment being to cut down the seat to fit in the pilot. Paints used Tamyia Dark Sea Grey and Dark Green 2 for the wrap around, Humbrol Silver for the underside. Humbrol black wash for the weathering finished with Tamyia flat varnish on top and gloss underneath. Sorry for the grainy photos, think its time I up graded my phone.
  12. Another Ebay purchase. Not my favourite aircraft growing up, but like the new Lightning its grown on me, plus I think the box art for this one looks amazing. Normally i have a mooch around on scalemates and on here for reviews and builds for any pit falls to lookout for or aftermarket needed, but for this one I went in blind. Having just built 2 airfix buccs, and in the past the jaguar and tornado gr1 I wasn't really expecting much, but that was fine, planning on just a quick out the box built after stalling trying to build the revell gr4 farewell tornado. Box Art and Sprue shots, Cockpit was just sprayed with Tamiya medium sea grey and kit decals used for the instrument panels, seat looks pretty good out the box, sprayed black and dry brushed with silver, and put the pilot in to save time messing around with harness straps. Engine and intake area fitted nicely and was pretty impressed with the detail and fit of the kit, but its been an enjoyable change just to sit down in one evening and be able to reach this stage with out any faffing about. Pilot doesn't fit into the seat, so removed the base of the cushion, and sanded down the base of the seat a little. Rest of it came together pretty quickly, no need for any filler, no flash and very little sanding needed to tidy up the parts once off the sprue. Still undecided on the final paint scheme, but leaning more to a wrap around camo with silver/grey undersides.
  13. Yeah I thought the etch set was pretty good. Looks the part to me once painted. Yup definitely a tail sitter, forgot to add weight to the nose .
  14. Finally finished this one, think it's taken around 6 months working on and off between house moves and work. I know the stigma around this kit, but it's been one of my favourite builds. Kit of firsts for me, first full photo etch cockpit, using filler, using a gloss coat, vacform canopy and an enamel wash... need a lot more practice with the wash though. Airfix 1/48 Buccanner S2/S2C kit used Pavla ejection seats Airwaves photo etch cockpit Kit World decals Areoclub canopy Scratch build bomb bay Sprayed with Tamiya acrylics Humbrol enamel black wash Humbrol gloss varnish brushed on Kit came without any clear parts, so no nav lights or screen between the navigator and pilot. Work in progress below Picture time
  15. 365games have some on their site for 23.99, just got my dispatch email this morning.
  16. Like everyone else say, the head is fantastic. Any chance of telling your process of getting it looking so realistic?
  17. Getting to the finish line with these 2 now. S2D - decaling is all done. Just need to attach the wings and install the ejection seats. Lost the aerials off the top of the fuselage when moving house so will need to replace them somehow. S2B - build from the S2D boxing so new decals were needed, picked up kits world war birds decals from Hannents. Bomb bay was completed to hide the lack of buldged bomb bay. The kit arrived with no clear parts, lucky the other kit had a vac form canopy, but will need to make the windshield for the co pilot and lights.
  18. That's brilliant. Love the finish on the blue paint.
  19. Managed to finish most of the paintwork now on these two. Started decaling S2D and just waiting for new decals for the B
  20. Hit a snag with this build, I ran out of the paint I was using for the navy Bucc just before I moved house, threw away the pot and now 2 months later cant remember what I was using. I want to say it was tamiya XF54, but when looking online the 54 shade looks a lot lighter on the paint charts. Only place it looks correct is Ebay. Anyone able to guide me in the right direction as to what paint it may be? The harrier and navy buc in the thread is the colour I had been using.
  21. Lol that's an understatement. I've just used tonnes of sprue glue to fill. No where near the standard of yours but good enough for me
  22. Slow progress with these two with all the nice weather. But with the rain this weekend, managed to get a bit more done. Camo work done on the s2b, and a bit of detailing in the bomb bay. Trying to get the air brakes buttoned up and joined to the fuselage was a nightmare, and leave a lot to be desired.
  23. Looks great. I've got two sat waiting for paint at the moment, hope they turn out half as good as yours.
  24. Havnt managed to get much done on this one with the good weather the last few weekends and a bit of bad luck. Started to paint up the buc but ended up dropping my air brush, bending the needle and then somehow sheared off the screw thread on the nozzle in the airbrush. Got my spare out, went to turn on the compressor and... nothing. Couldn't get it to turn on, no idea why it stopped working. Anyway, got a new one on order with some paints. Whilst I'm waiting decided to crack on with the other Buc, cockpit already installed with the air waves photo etch. Getting the fuselage together on this one was a nightmare, 2 hours or super gluing, poly cement, clamps and tape and it's just about joined. The warping was awful. Wanting to do a RAF wrap around camo for this one. With no buldged bomb bay I'm attempting doing it open and detailing it up a bit. Still a bit to go.
