  1. My first 48th, very nice kit. - hope you like it! Best, Ricardo
  2. Guys, I am about to finish the same model in a couple of weeks, so please let's stop commenting on this one so it won't make mine look like crap when I post it, LOL Just kidding... Another absolutely amazing model by Arkady72 - it definitely inspired me to buy the Italeri model and build it. Hopefully it will turn out 1/10th as good as this one! Best, Ricardo
  3. Thank you Warren! I think it just a visual effect, probably worsened by the tires being modeled as perfect circles (no deformation in the bottom of the tire)
  4. Thank you Chris for the information and your comment about the yellow bands, completely true! Best, Ricardo
  5. Great job, I really liked it! Definitely a great finish. I really enjoyed the WIP pictures in the folder. Saludos compatriota! / Best regards, Ricardo
  6. Thank you JWM! Hi Mike! I don't really know, maybe it was a model inaccuracy added to my ignorance. The kit offered either this configuration or no turret at all. Now I am thinking that maybe this configuration was meant to be complemented with some aftermarket pieces, as I couldn't find any reference about this type of "turret"
  7. Hello everyone, Here is my latest model, the Northrop P-61A Black Widow “Lady Gen”, 422nd Night Fighter Squadron, 1944. I really love this aircraft, and I was lucky to find an old Dragon 1/72 kit in eBay at a reasonable price. Built mainly OOB, I only changed the decals (Eagle Editions, printed by Cartograph). Painted using Model Master and Humbrol enamels. Weathering using silver pencil, Flory Models washes, and Tamiya Weathering Master kits. About the kit itself, overall I am very satisfied; especially considering this kit was manufactured in 1994. Great quality of the plastic, no flashing, and well defined panel lines. Some fit issues in the engine/wings area. The P-61A is tail sitter, so I had to add an incredible amount of weight to the nose, engines and even to the cockpit. Now I am a bit concerned with the ability of the landing gears to resist the weight! I am happy with the result, and even more with the learning in the process – it was the first time that I tried several techniques, such as salt technique weathering (which resulted a bit too subtle), paint chipping using silver pencil, and some photography techniques. I have learned a lot with everyone’s posts here in Britmodeller, so thank you so much! Please see below some pictures. I included a size comparison with an F-14A Tomcat, which was very interesting to me. Feedback and comments are very welcomed. I hope you like it, and thank you for looking! 8. Great job, I've been following the WIP thread. The end result is really impressive!
  9. Such a beautiful aircraft, thank you for sharing Ken!
  10. Hi Ken! Thank you for your comment! Now that you mention it, I might be confused... I am finishing now a P-61 Black Widow, and I have added so much weight to avoid tail sitting that my mind can be tricking me. I would definitely trust you! By the way, I checked your page - amazing collection! Really impressive! Congratulations All the best, Ricardo
  11. Thank you for liking the model. It's a very nice kit, I am sure you will enjoy building it. I didn't add much nose weight, but it's definitely a tail sitter if you don't add it. Hard to tell how much I added, but it was probably 5-6 of those little weight balls, like these (http://www.amazon.com/South-Bend-Round-Split-Sinker/dp/B003CUIR3C) Hope this helps!
  12. René - thank you so much for taking the time to explain! It is very clear and extremely helpful. I was curious whether you used some type filter or airbrushed some heavily thinned paint after you worked the panel lines, but looks like only the wash was enough to get to this amazing result! Best, Ricardo
  13. Great job, I loved it! Can you please share an overview of the steps you took for weathering the aircraft? I really looks perfect! Thank you! Best, Ricardo
  14. Great model! I loved the video, thank you for posting!
  15. Great job! I particularly liked the Growler, very nice weathering!
  16. Thank you very much for your kind comments! Best, Ricardo
  17. Hello everyone, Here is the Hasegawa's MV-22 Osprey 1/72 kit that I finished a while ago. Really nice kit, great quality and very enjoyable to work with. I really recommend it. Sadly, I got some decals silvering, as I did not know those days about clear coating and Micro Sol. Anyway, I hope you like it! Best, Ricardo
