  1. Interesting. Did the F-35Bs that recently returned on QE show the same weathering?
  2. Hey, it's MY wish list...... I see a lot of unfeasible guesses in these threads, so why not? A guy can dream.....
  3. Indeed, the continued whinging is unfair - Airfix just happened to be the first company to announce price rises, the rest will inevitably follow. One can whine about prices all day long but it isn't going to change them; you either cough up or don't - your choice. In case anyone hadn't noticed, the price of everything is going up, that is the World situation at the moment.
  4. If we're going with wish lists, how about a 1/350 British aircraft carrier?
  5. I guess if the operator was particularly good, he'd be a Gee whiz......
  6. Depends on the depth of the water - it could have 'glided' a considerable distance underwater. However, I would imagine there was a submarine with the task group, which might have been able to track it on sonar, and that it's still in the area even now to prevent interference.
  7. I hope he's on his way to Mornington Crescent. RIP and thanks for all the laughs.
  8. I think the media are complementary. It is simply not the case that you can find 'everything' online that has appeared in magazines and books, and nothing will replace printed plans, as just one example.
  9. Did anyone else get a 'defective' Flypast calendar, where the pictures don't match up to the months, and are below the fold rather than the above? A printing error, I'm sure, but makes for a very odd presentation! I mean, it's free, but.....
  10. Works both ways - for example, British aviation magazines (far better than their American equivalents) are marked up at least the same amount over here. And although we don't have VAT, we do have to add local and state taxes on top - 10% in my little town.
  11. Cool! Incidentally, they've just dropped their first book:
  12. Chris is still alive and kicking though busy with life. Please contact him via the e-mail on the website - bucholtzc@aol.com
  13. First completion of the year - the Skunk Models 1/48 RN Tow Tractor. These come two to a box, and I completed one in the pre-1980's yellow and the other will be in post-80s dark green. Fit and detail are OK, nothing to write home about. The box also comes with a variety of nice figures, including a driver; I've left him removeable. The back of the box has a diorama base of an Invincible Class carrier deck. All I need now is a variety of 1/48 Sea Harriers to tow around! It's marked as a generic tractor from either Hermes or Invincible, June 1982, hence the beat-up appearance. I guess it qualifies as a mobile airfield vehicle, though I'm sure they must have been used at shore stations as well as at sea!
  14. Hopefully the new tool F-35B will not feature raised RAM panels…..
  15. Just realised I'd got the manufacturer wrong - it's Skunk Models.....
  16. Thanks! I didn't want to overdo it because these were normally kept pretty pristine. However, I figured that if I put this with a Falklands Sea Harrier, the deck crew would have had more important things to worry about during 3 months of combat ops.
  17. No quite sure where to put this. It isn't an aircraft, but it also isn't a ship, armoured fighting vehicle or civilian vehicle. As it works with aircraft, I'll plunk it here and the mods can move it if they so desire. First completion of the year - the Skunk Models 1/48 RN Tow Tractor. 18. The 'New Tool' 1/32 Hurricane IIb - is this truly a new tool or a new boxing of someone else's moulds? Because that might be the biggest news for me out of this.
  19. No wonder Grogu looks sad......
  20. There's plenty of interest in types with less than 100 built - even types that never flew except as a sheet of paper... Perhaps if they added WHIF Luftwaffe markings.....
