  1. Its very fiddly, but I found that Italeri's template is pretty good, Cut out a paper template based on it to check for size - I would cut the mesh slightly larger than they suggest. Start at one end and superglue it down, then tack glue it around the inside of the frame. Superglue it down permanently. Trim with a new scalpel blade once its dry. Not the easiest thing to accomplish, but it doesn't look half bad when you are done!
  2. I'm sorry, Matt, what were you saying? - I was distracted by your avatar............. Interesting idea, but this is not for me, so I have to be exact! BTW, can your F-I-L confirm the colour of the fin on 54Sqn F.1 WT692/S - Richard Ward say DSG, but looking at photos, I'd go with Golden Yellow.
  3. I can't see the pics because I'm at work and they are blocked, but what are the problems you are facing? I have one on the bench at the moment and would be happy to share knowledge gained........and yes, it is a bit of a pig! Mine is a conversion to GA.11 using the PJ Production set; there's a pic here: http://gregers.7.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=7443 Working this one alongside the Revell 1/32 kit. I'll look at your pics when I get home this evening and may have some suggestions then. But don't bin it!
  4. Thank you guys, I apprecite your help with this.
  5. Thanks, pretty jet! Pity these don't show the undersides as well!
  6. Does anyone please have photos of a 12 Squadron Hunter in wraparound camo - particularly the undersides, so I can work out the pattern. Also, anyone have a nice close-up of the fox head badge worn on the side of the nose? TIA!
  7. Post-it notes are usually low enough tack to not cause problems - I use them all the time, with some regular tape over the top to hold them in position.
  8. And Boeing's on strike at the moment.............. More election year politics...........
  9. I'd concur with Derek on all points. Revell haven't included the curved intake trunks, and you might think about the FOD covers in that case.
  10. I can also recommend LuckyModel also out of Hong Kong.
  11. Very nice Jen! Lots of lovely helicopter models being posted here recently!
  12. Splendid work Glenn - and a lovely tribute.
  13. Probably go for a lot less from the Far Eastern retailers; the Hong Kong guys regularly sell Trumpeter kits for about 1/2 to 2/3rds RRP. Even so, it'll be a lot of money....
  14. Genereally, the black bellied B(I).8s were used for "short" range interdictor missions with RAF Germany, so they didn't need the tanks.
  15. All right, Phil! Nice job on an awkward kit. Good idea with the Revell Red Tops - wish MPM had provided a set.......
  16. Nice! Just to complement these, I've a walkaround here with cockpit detail shots: http://www.ipmsusa2.org/Walkarounds/05-12-08-T28/page.html
  17. The Attacker could carry up to 8 60lb rockets, or 2 1,000lb bombs, though I haven't seen any photos showing this. The best I found was one with 4 empty rocket rails, two on each side between the outer cannon and the wingtip fold. Ad Hoc Publications has a new book out about the Attacker, which I think will be the most comprehensive history of the type yet released. These are very good books and well worth the money. http://www.adhocpublications.com/attacker.htm
  18. It is a re-box of the Italeri kit with, apparently, a few extra bits more appropriate for an RAF machine. But not corrected rotor blades.
  19. Nice one, Nico - what colours did you use for the camo?
  20. Excellent work, Ted; I look forward to seeing the article.
